what i mean is that you can have a personal picture on the right hand side of the display. i used to have the ///M as you can see below:

first you need to upload a picture into your bmw connected profile (up to 5 pics possible). then, in your idrive menu (inet connection needed) you switch to the right hand side of the display and press the button. there you can choose between several options for what is displayed there. there has to be s.th. like "personal image" or so, if i recall correctly.

I logged in to my connected drive and don't see the option to upload a picture online or in the app. Where do you go?

BMW Connected Drive website -> "Remote Cockpit" -> Control Panel (not sure how it's called on the English website, in German it's "Steuerung") -> "My Pictures"

How can you get that? I have a 04/14 MY and subscriptions are expired

too bad that this function doesn't seem to be available in Canada...
