The chrome looks like crap! My 2 cents.

He probably hasn't. Per the ordering guide it's "Carbon Fiber Interior Trim with Black Chrome highlight". So is it just black chrome? If so no biggy.

Black chrome actually looks quite cool. M4 has it on the door interior trim.

You can see the new chrome trim in the pics in the original post. The chrome trim around the HVAC vents anyway. There may be more, but the vent trim is very visible.

If it is black chrome, it is fine. If it is silver chrome... blah. That was one thing I didn't like about the new C63S interior and I won't like it on the M either.

Doesn't look like chrome at all... it's brushed aluminum same as what's around the DCT shifter and on the steering wheel. looks fine to me...

Personally I don't like it... doesn't belong in a car like this IMO. The base, 3/4 series? Sure. The M3/4? Nope IMO. Is it bad enough to REALLY matter? No, it is relatively subtle and not overbearing like in the C63.

Before/after view:

Seems incomplete though. No black chrome trim highlight on the doors, HVAC display still orange, cup holder cover instead of drawer, ...

Yeah, I don't think accurate 2016 M3 interior images are available yet.

Here's a comparison of the new seat adjustment switches. Of course, you'll never see this when driving the car anyway.

we really are in the land of nitpicking when we discuss the detail changes of seat trim.

You never see the tail lights either but that's quite a big deal to most

True, but even other motorists won't be able to see your hopelessly outdated, chromeless seat adjustment switches.

That picture is from a 3 Series on which they are optional.

The picture is correct - I was only trying to show the seat back and bottom switches. I didn't find suitably close-up M3-specific one readily available.

Technically the MY2016 picture isn't an M3 either, it's a 3 Series, but that's irrelevant.
