Bought a 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio

Picked one up a month ago. I am impressed overall. Interior could be nicer but it's not too bad. First thing I did was open up the valves permanently and then I lowered it. Got the light weight wheels with CC brakes.

Few things to note.

- carbon fiber hood and roof.
- real functional diffuser
- carbon spoiler, front splitter and side sills. Not needing to pay extra.
- active front splitter. Crazy!
- Engine feels very special. Full of character.
- light weight wheels are fairly light. 19 lbs front and 20 lbs rear.
- went with comfort seats since this is my daily
- carbon fiber drive shaft. I know bmw recently moved away from it.
- HK audio isn't very good

Sick car...I want to get one so bad if I can find in the price range that I can afford. What did you end up paying for it if you don't mind sharing. Congrats!

You can easily find them for $10k-$12k off on 2018's maybe more. I ended up getting $12k off on a $86k sticker car.

Beautiful! My buddy has one with the license plate "ALFANCU". That car has so much spirit and feeling. When I first heard it was an automatic, I wasn't impressed. When my buddy took me for a ride and I saw just how impressive it truly was of a car, I was no longer dissatisfied with the fact it's an automatic. The shifts sounded incredible-almost reminscent of a rally car with the pop after each gear change. The acceleration was something else too. It's so sad that the F80 M3/4 are so boring because this car has outdone them in every aspect.

Looks great. Hadn't seen a detail shot of those wheels, those are pretty cool. If they'd offered one with a manual like they initially promised, I'd likely have one too.

There is black one near me that is discounted $20k, and is a 2018. But that is still alot of cash. So, the wheels you have on are the optional wheels, or do they come standard?

Thanks.

Damn. $20k is a big discount.

You cannot order the wheels I have with carbon ceramics for some odd reason. So I had my dealer swap them out.

Nice! That's still alot of cash (~$66k). Hopefully in a couple of years a CPO might be the ticket for me.

Few more thoughts.

I wouldn't say that Alfa is much better than M3/M4. It's just different. I really enjoyed my time with both M3 and M4. The only thing I noted from beginning was that they felt like they were being held back. I am sure HFC, exhaust and a tune would've fixed that. Power also felt like it dropped off noticeably after 6500 rpm. In Alfa, it builds all the way to redline like NA engine. I know they are doing some torque limitation on lower gears.

In my opinion, Alfa feels more purpose built for performance. Things like active splitter, functional rear diffuser, wide sills really gives it the presence. You can even spec full carbon racing seats (I didn't). I read somewhere that Giulia was built top down so it was a performance car first then the lesser models were built unlike M cars.

Reliability? Not sure yet as I only have 2k miles. The only issue I've experienced is that my trunk does not lock. I can walk up to my car without a key and open the trunk when the rest of the car is locked. Need to setup an appointment with the dealer to fix this issue.

Things that I don't like-

I much prefer the way M cars are designed when it comes to the driving modes. M1 and M2 buttons, and 3 settings for everything else. Everyone is performance car industry should follow this. It works perfectly IMO.

Race mode turns stability and traction off. I don't like this at all. It should've been a separate button.

Cannot turn off start/stop permanently. I hate this tbh.

Does not have all around camera.

Gear shifter feels cheap but it's very similar in design to the sport auto bmw shifters. I had one in my 550i. I like the M shifters much better.

Nice add brother, for some reason I thought you couldnt get the carbon ceramics with those wheels due to fitment issues. Im glad what I read was wrong as I like those wheels on the car much better.

Any engine/tuning mods coming? I know a few tuners have seen some nice gains.

Well anyone would, but you need to be more realistic. BMW residuals are in the low 50's lately.

Thanks Vic! You cannot get those wheels with CC option from factory. My dealer scraped the original wheels and they agreed to swap them out for the lightweight ones. Clearance is not an issue so not sure why they didn't offer them with CC.

Spacers and Air filter is on order. X pipe and tune will be next.

OP, How does the the ride and dampers compare to your F90 as in soaking up bad pavement? What is a good discount on the quadrifoglio now? Do dealers seem to want to move them?
