M-performance HAS with Bilstein B6 EDC - No go

Hey everyone,

I'm not sure if I am the first to try this and would love for someone to chime in if they have, but today I've found out that you can't pair the Bilstein B6 dampers with EDC with the M-performance HAS as the spring perches aren't compatible with the Bilstein B6s. To make it work involves modifying the B6 dampers which I am not prepared to do.

Bit of a shame as I was really looking forward to this set-up, so instead I'm going with the Eibach lowering springs and will just have to sacrifice the height adjustment of the M-performance HAS kit.

So anyone looking to try this, apparently it ain't going to work.

Why not try the MSS kit that evolve just announced? Assuming you care about the height adjustability, not because it's an OEM part.

Probably too late now as the car is already in the workshop. I'll just go with the Eibach V2s as they have them in stock.

How/when/where did you get the B6 dampers?

Bilstein-shocks.co.uk

Had them in stock too! Only took about 10 days from the time I ordered them to getting to me here in Australia.

Just got the car back today. First thing I noticed was the ride in sport was slightly more stiff than stock, but that could be down to the spring rates of the Eibach springs.

As far as the dampening is concerned, night and day difference. The way the car rides over bumps and feels more planted and composed is amazing. A vast improvement over stock and it no longer feels like the car is unsettled over bumps.

I'll go for a longer, spirited drive and see how it fares as well.

I think anyone here would have told you that the HAS kit won't work with any aftermarket shocks.

Are there any HAS kits that will work with the aftermarket shocks? I'm probably going to go with the B6's at some point and having some adjustability would be great instead of having to run stock springs since I DD the car and realistically need it to be not lowered in winter.

The new MSS kit that evolve tuning announced recently will.

Eibach pro-kit. Didn't drop the car as much as I had hoped.

I searched but no one has tried this set-up as far as I could find. Heck there aren't many people on B6 dampers. No biggie, selling them and I'll get my money back.
