Any chance you could post a photo of the "instructor method"? (or is it easy to explain?)

Cheers!
I use the instructor method every time I get into a student's car. Much easier with power seats but nowadays those are common.

It's still a pretty lousy substitute even of a 4 point system

I'm assuming the "instructor method" is twisting the belt several times before latching in?

PM me your emails and I will email you the instruction video, but this is what he said

Its easier to see it than understand it when described:

Julian,

What I am about to describe to you is the technique we teach the high performance driving instructors. As you know, instructors hop into and out of cars all day long. Some of them prefer using a CG-Lock. There is a way to use the CG-Lock without permanently attaching it to a seatbelt. That is what I will now explain.

The first step is a simple modification to the CG-Lock. Remove the 2 short screws holding the clamp. Turn the clamp around so the teeth are pointing to the back of the CG-Lock and are pointing up. The square end of the clamp will be facing forward. Reinsert the screws and tighten snugly. That's the modification.

To use the CG-Lock in this configuration, watch the attached video.

With a little practice, you can install and remove a CG-Lock using this technique in a matter of a few seconds.

Please let me know if this solves your problem. Have fun on your track day!

What I do is move the seat back, then quickly pull down on the belt close to the B pillar and get it to lock, then move the seat forward and have it pull the belts really tight.

It makes your shoulder sore but worth it so you aren't jumping around in the car
