This is the third time I have spotted this LRG at Sonoma State University.

Factory ASD settings?
Anyone know what the factory settings for active sound / ASD are for F80 M3 CS? I've read online posts that say it came disabled, but in the CS reviews and in-car footage it sounds like it has some ASD. Has anyone hooked up Bimmercode to a completely stock car and checked the values in expert mode?
When I purchased my car, ASD was disabled (i'm not the original owner). I tried enabling it (setting to F80 / S55 ) and it does seem do something, but not as overtly obvious as I remembered it from an M3 Competition test drive. With stock exhaust, and whatever settings I have now, I actually prefer it enabled . It gives some volume with the windows up and doesn't sound too artificial. When it was off it was quiet with windows up, even with valves open. I'll try to grab some audio clips later. Maybe BMW tuned the ASD for the CS model differently than the M3C and base? |

^ I don't have an answer to your question...
But have you ever tried leaving your rear seats down? It allows more sound to enter the cabin. I've started doing it just for fun. Free mods lol

To my knowledge, ASD is not present on GTS/CS models. Not even a little bit.

Installed some HRE r101 LWs. Not sure about the color, might paint orbit grey once I burn through these Potenzas.

Examples of what it sounds like with full ASD: 1. 2. Thread referencing at least 3 settings for ASD (there may be more)...https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1122306. This seems accurate - when I programmed to "F10" it disabled ASD completely. Thread referencing ASD indeed turned on for CS from Tom @ EAS https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1582827 When I get some time I'll make some comparison videos. |

I do remember possibly seeing an ASD module when I was fooling around with Bummerlink. I remember ASD being off. I never messed with it, but I figured ASD was some generic thing that all BMWs had. When you enable it, it works?
I forgot where I read that CS/GTS had no ASD. Perhaps they meant disabled, unsure. :/ I've owned cars with active sound the CS sounds nothing like those cars if I'm being honest. Mine must be disabled, if it has it equipped. I'm interested to learn the truth here lol

I just had to swap out my spool stage 3 for a precision lacework stage 4.5 LPFP while we were in there we added the BW anti-fuel stage kit was having fuel starve issues so hoping this fixes that. Selling a spool stage 3 w lines if anyone needs one for cheap. I guess the car is holding up very well so much more car than stock at this point but enjoy driving it a lot |
