Snow Tire set up and snow driving/handling

I need your help and all your inputs.
I live in NY and currently have an '11 335xi which is my every day driver and definitely my winter car.
I change out summer tires for snows come the fall.
The car is terrific in the winter months.
I also have an '07 M5 which is a garage queen in bad weather.
I am considering purchasing a new M3, trading in (or selling) both cars and using the M3 as my new everyday driver.
I will probably order the car with 19" wheels and do a minus size (18") when it comes to swapping out for winter tires.
Do any of you have experience with your F80 M3's (or M4's) with a snow tire set up and driving it in the snow?
I am concerned because this newer generation has serious torque at low rpms.
Thank you for any and all of your experiences and opinions.
Brett

I have the common ScottZeros on the factory 19s, no issues and drives well in the snow as long as your not expecting it to function like a jeep.
Never once did I want more tire or need 4wd

I ordered my M3 with the 19's and right away I started looking a getting a winter tire setup. I have my Lexus SUV that will handle most of this winters driving as my M3 will be a garage queen this winter except for nice open sky days. But, that is where it's going to end. At the end of this winter I am probably going to move my Lexus and just keep the M3 as my daily. So, I was looking into dedicated snow tires for the winter and I came up with a couple solutions. I am only going to give one as the other isn't that practical. I did a quick search on ebay and I found a set of 18 inch wheels that look like the stock 19's (just do a search for "2015 M3 wheels 18" and sort by price lowest first). The winter time brings a bunch of salt and grime and other crap that can wear out a set of wheels so I don't have a large budget for something that is going to get ruined essentially so I understand if you want to look at OEM products, I just can't justify spending 2K on wheels that are going to get messed up so I am going to cheaper route and not worrying if they get messed up as I have my 19's for the summer to look good. The next part was finding tires. The wheels in the listing are staggered but I think I am going to run them squared off unless someone else tells me that's not a good idea. The ones that I settled on are MICHELIN - X-Ice Xi3 (under $200 a tire) at 245/40R18. This is the route that I am looking at going and hope it's a good start as I want dedicated wheels for the winter time. Let me know what you end up going with so I can look at other options.
