On more thing.

Corsa Motorsport did a couple feature videos on their shop M4 with JRZ RS Pro3 suspension. You can see that they mounted their canisters on the aluminum brace near the wipers. You would have to remove or modify the plastic in guards that covers the area.

Personally, I don't know how they fit it there. I tried and I swear the hood was hitting the canisters. But I'm gonna try to get it to fit there again. It's separated from the engine and insulated by a partition.

So I tried to mount the canisters on the aluminum strut brace last night. I really wanted it to work, but it did not. The hood does hit the canister and pushes up the hood a lot. The panel gap between the hood/fender/A-pillar becomes extremely large. Like an inch gap. That might not matter to someone running a dedicated track car (Like Corsa motorsports's M4), but the gap was too ugly for me to keep it that way. Hope this has helped.

I'm gearing up to install MCS 2WR dampers. Canister mounting locations are on my mind, especially for the front.

Being an LCI car I can't mount above the headlights. Thanks to the good people at BW I discovered this option that I wanted to share. The appearance is SO MUCH cleaner than the strut brace mount. Accessing the adjustment dials might be slightly awkward. Otherwise, I don't see any downsides. I'll likely give it a try unless anyone here can talk me out of it.

This is actually a great idea. It also keeps the canisters further from the engine bay heat

That is a really trick mounting location, how are you going to isolate?

I did a similar set up. I have the CS hood and couldn't make them fit any other way.

How do you put the canisters there in the first place?

that location is directly accessible once you remove the plastic fender liner from underneath. I had my canisters there before. adjusting the knob is really hard for JRZ design type reservoirs unless you have smaller hands/ fingers, but definitely still doable.

I ended up switching to headlight location with custom bracket

This is exactly how my shop mounted the front canisters on mcs.

No problems making adjustments

I need to find a shop in LA that can mount my front canisters like that! Super clean install.

Bumping this thread as I'm getting sucked in to the black hole of a remote setup... Can anyone confirm if the standard-length reservoir lines of the rear MCS damper are long enough to make it into the trunk storage cubby if the damper is run in a standard (non-inverted) orientation? I would opt for the QDs.
The pic from sly1types makes it look like a yes but just wanted to be sure.

Thx

how are guys securing the reservoir's to the headlights? In some pics I have seen it looks like velcro. MCS sends the little brackets with rivets. I was thinking up grinding down the headlight cap ridges and riveting it and then some double sided tape / Velcro on the other half. super tight to close the hood with much there.

that sounds like a plan if you have a preLCI car

Here’s how I route mine: right behind the rear wheel well cover there is a great little hole that you can use (it’s plugged with a grommet that you’ll remove), helps if you run inverted for the extra length. Lots of mounting options from there.
