If you go down to 30 in the rear it would have a lower OD than the front. Or you could go with 275/30/19 fronts and 295/30/19 rear. I did a lot of research and went with a 265/40/18 front and 305/35/18 rear which is essentially the same as the 19" but just in the 18" wheel size. My nitto 555r fit just fine on an 11" wheel but I have heard that nittos run a little smaller.

I have experience with the Advans and can say that they are really loud tires.
Thanks for the post. The tire set up isn't bad it's the sluggish feeling when cornering I feel now plus the tires I have are horrible. I'm dealing with the claims dept at Evans tires right now. I'm hoping they will give me a refund so I can use that money towards MPSS in 275/30/19 and 295/30/19. I've decided that will be the best set up for me right now and 295 is still wide and aggressive.

When you say stock OD can you expand?

Keep in mind that going wider in the front will contribute to a lack of feel and responsiveness. Even with PSS. Wider tires generally "dull" steering response a bit. Maybe not enough to matter but keep that in mind.

Yea, I just don't want what I feel now. Just daily driving going fast around a turn feels extremely sluggish. It's definitely not the same as the stock feel and with lighter wheels, better springs, it should be better! I am hoping the tires will help along with a less wide rear.

pretty sure the 305 & 295 MPSS are backordered/might be replaced by a new version in near future. i too would like to go the MPSS route as i've been through 3 sets on my GTR's and like them for an all around use tire. but nowhere has them so i'm sitting on fence hoping a new option comes out otherwise i'll have to go another route.

The Bridgestones above are actually rates higher on tire rack.
MPSS - best of the options if you don't track. Quiet, good grip, good in rain, last long.

RE-11 - Better at the track and better grip than PSS. Similar in comfort (noise, etc) but heavier and won't last as long. I have a set coming from TireRack now. These are also discontinued (which has now been confirmed) but I'll take my chances because I really like this tire as a dual purpose tire.

AD-08R - Better than the RE-11 as a performance tire but with more trade off in sound/harshness. These will likely be what I use after I kill the RE-11.

It all depends on what characteristics someone wants in their tires. IMO, if you don't track, then the very best option is the MPSS as it doesn't give up much, if any, street performance to the others but is more livable. The only place it under performs is the track.
Well, I checked and Bridgestone RE11 doesn't make a 295??

MPSS is on nationwide back order.

Kind of SOL here.

You could do 265/35 and 305/30 in an RE-11 if you wanted. Getting the perfect tire and size is a challenge this summer... EVERYTHING seems to be on back order!

Yea, only problem is I don't know if the issue is my tires or the tires and the size. I don't see anyone else running that set up but me...

Funnily, my experience is the total opposite. After I installed the rear 275/35R19 on the front wheels, the steering became much more alive with much improved feedback.

We've had this debate more than once. I am not surprised that the 265/35R19 paired with 305/30R19 yields more DSC intervention. Having a crappy tire with poor grip will only exacerbate the situation.

I just ordered a 255/35 and 285/35 set of wheels. So, I've increased the stagger... wonder if I'll get less DSC intervention given the wheel is larger

I suspect the difference 275 to 285 is small enough it won't matter anyway.

They swapped the two bad ones and now they are fine.

I wouldn't consider it an "awesome" tire unless you're comparing it to a "street" tire on a hot summer day. Then yeah, the 888 has more grip. In the rain, you're giving out advice that can get someone hurt.

With that said, who in their right mind drives a car on the STREET with TRACK tires mounted?

Ditto.

The "experts" that are in this forum make me laugh.

People who make comments like this make me laugh too I don't think you have any idea how much experience/expertise someone here has or doesn't have

P.S. Glad your experience aligns with CanAutM3... who is, in fact, one resident expert

It's easy to tell how much someone knows based on their comments.

CanAutM3 has a good bit of track experience if I recall. And so do I.

As do I... my comment that he was replying to (and that you were referencing) about wider front tires "generally" having a dulling effect on steering is, in my experience, correct. CanAutM3's experience with the OEM 275 PSS was different and I absolutely take him at his word on it.

Glad you can tell how much I know about stuff based on my comment and if my comment made you laugh (while I was pretending to be an expert ) I'm glad I provided some entertainment.

"Generally" and "in my experience" are qualifiers if I've ever seen one. Are you sure, or not sure??

I'm going to leave this dead thread now and let you argue with the wall.

OK

P.S. Qualifiers like "generally" and "in my experience" are quite appropriate without quantifiable data to back it up and really all most of us have even with lots of track time and expertise. And, yes, I'm sure of what my experiences were and how wider tires felt to me Now... where is that wall
