1/4mile traction issues

How did you guys reduce traction issues..

Took the F80 to 1/4mile for the second time and again i could not grip. Both sessions i had the same 60ft at about 2.2 - 2.4
I know the cup2 arnt made for drag racing but its what i have on the car and a hell of a lot better on the road than the previous super sports so I had hope to reduce some traction issues.

F80 M3 Stage 2 on 98
Boost reduction 50% 1st, 20% 2nd,
S3 and Sport+ everything except comfort in suspension

1st time:
MPSS tyres 25psi (295/30/19)
12.1 @ 200.9 kph
19c degree ambient
32c degree track temp
- A quick small burnout
- Launch control

2nd time: Hot evening
Cup2 Tyres 25psi (315/30/19)
12.4 @ 197kph
33c degree ambient temp
44c degree track temp
- A quick small burnout
- Launch control

I read recently that the Mustang GT500 is faster to 100 kph on street (PS4S) tyres than on its track tyre option (PS2C): https://www.carscoops.com/2020/12/mu...d-explanation/

Michelin PSS provide less traction than the newer PS4S tyres so it would be reasonable to expect the PS4S to provide better times than both the PSS and PS2C tyres for 1/4 mile drags.

I also believe for the best possible times you should go for tyres created for the maximum longitudinal grip - drag radials/tyres (nitto etc).

I have run 10.7 with a hoosier 245 /45 /18
Might take it back out now with lighter 18s and a fresh e85 setup.

Ran 10.8 with M/T Street ET 19" setup.
Which you can have for $750 if you're in Sydney. Has TPMS

For the M/Ts Did you end up doing a long burnout? and any boost reductions with them?

Wow a 10.7! That's impressive. What was your trap speed and 60ft time if you don't mind me asking?

10.78@130mph
1.6 60 foot

car has a 10.6 in it easy. I stopped as soon as I got the record for
Full weight, Stock Turbo & stock fuel system.

Unlike others that claim they're faster....
They are stripped and run meth...

Haha they look and sound awesome though

That’s some massive driver’s skill right there then! I know you have mentioned Hoosier on 18” and Mickey Thomason on 19”, but what’s the width that you run on both setup if you don’t mind me asking?

Launch control was used and at max rpm for LC.
Burnout needed to heat the tyres up.

No boost reduction. Burnout, engage LC, dial up the rpm and let go!
