F8X LCI2 Headlight Retrofit

Just finished

This retrofit was done on a 2016 LCI Comp Pack. The current headlights are LED Adaptive and we set out to retrofit the LCI 2 LED Adaptive headlights.
I am not sure how this retrofit would go on a bi-xenon car, I think it would work similarly just more coding required.

'Regular' LCI Headlights

and skip ahead to new headlights in...

To match the new headlights we retrofitted the LCI taillights as well

I think the LCI2 DRLs are a nice upgrade and big savings on LCI cars.

Stuart, what is the total cost, parts and labour to do the headlights?

Current pricing on complete headlights a bit over $7k here they are on the BMR site: http://www.bmraw.com/oem-lci2-led-he...bmw-m3-m4-f8x/

Install and coding is a much smaller cost at $450.

Sorry to dredge this up, but a quick question. For a pre-LCI CAR with LEDs, is this just a headlight housing swap then some coding?

In other threads I've seen reference to needing (6?) modules, needing to run two additional wires from the main fuse box, and a possible additional passenger side wire harness.

Or—are you including all of those parts in this retrofit from pre-LCI LED?

Thanks!

I'd love to do the LCI 2 headlight retro-fit but it's too damn expensive!

I think the new headlights transform the whole car. I wish the headlights were like this from the start.

Search the forums, only a few members will make it for you otherwise it's DIY which is well documented in this forum.

If you have Xenons 14-15 then u will need the extra wires.

If '15 July+ LCI with LED, it's plug and play. The drivers side u just need to cut the zip ties to extend a cable the bit more to reach.

Then 5 minute coding

What kind of coding is required if going from LED Adaptive to LCI2? Is it something Bimmercode can do?
