Bent Competition Wheel
So this happened a few weekends ago...
Was cruising down Angeles Crest Highway and as we were turning a corner, we hit a rock that was probably a foot wide and a few inches tall. Wheel took it like a champ! Below is the damage for the Competition wheel (Forged), and a bent TC105N (Flow Formed) that we hit with our FRS on a similarly sized rock in the past, for comparison. It appears as though you guys have lots of large rocks on your highways. What’s up with that?

No Picture of the rock!
As for the rocks on the highways/back roads, we were driving through the canyons so there are bound to be road debris. Everyone else in the cruise managed to avoid the rock though. Driver didn't see it :'( The wheel that was bent from the FRS happened two years prior. |
