If by INPA Cable you mean a K+DCAN Cable, then no. You must use ENET Cable with E-Sys.

Successfully coded my F80 but have one issue - when I use the key to open/close windows my drivers door window won't move. The other 3 work as normal.
Anyone have suggestions? Nevermind figured it out Last edited by cwhands; 05-07-2016 at 08:06 AM.. |

OP,
I'm looking to code Euro MDM and possibly Brake Force Lighting. Is the E-Sys v.2 tutorial pdf in the OP still completely up to date allowing me to code these options? Secondly, what exactly is the difference between the E-Sys v.2 tutorial and the VO Coding tutorial? I see that they differ but honestly dont know what VO Coding is at all and how it differs from the changes being done in the E-Sys tutorial. Thanks |

There are only two kinds of coding, VO Coding and FDL Coding: VO Coding: DEFINED: VO = Vehicle Order CONCEPT: VO Code = Coding of all FDL's (100% of the ECU) to predetermined settings based on the Vehicle Order. PROCESS: Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE. You can VO Code using your factory FA, or modified FA as detailed here: FDL Coding: DEFINED: FDL = Function Data Line CONCEPT: FDL Code = Coding of individual FDL's in an ECU, overriding the VO Coding. PROCESS: Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on the ECU CAFD and select Read Coding Data => Expand the CAFD Folder by clicking + symbol => Right-Click on the CAFD file and select Edit => Edit CAFD as desired => Click the Blue Floppy Disc Icon to Save CAFD => Click the green back arrow icon => Right-Click on the CAFD file => Select FDL CODE. To "Edit CAFD as desired" most cases involves changing an FDL's value using a dropdown box of predefined values. In some FDL Coding instances though, the dropdown box of predefined values does not provide you with the choice you want, in which case you must change the Werte Value directly: The predefined Dropdown box settings and the Werte values are a matched set. So when you change the Dropdown box setting, the Werte value automatically changes with it. So for example, if you change a Dropdown box settings from nicht_aktiv to aktiv, the Werte value automatically changes from Werte=00 to Werte=01. That said, it's the Werte value only that matters. However, since hexadecimal values are hardly descriptive, the Dropdown box settings serve to provide a more descriptive way of representing what the Werte value's mean, and to ease changing them. So, when you change a Werte Value directly to a custom value, the predefined Dropdown box setting, which does not have a match for the custom value, displays "Unknown". The custom Werte value though is most certainly active so long as it is a valid value.

All of what you ask is explained in the PM I sent you earlier. Read the instructions in the PM itself and the included E-Sys Installation & Setup Instructions .pdf.

Had my first 1-hour coding session yesterday using a mix of cheat codes and my own manual input and I'm very happy with the results. Even though it was intimidating at first, I got used to the process very quickly. I didn't touch MDM but I'm crossing my fingers I coded the EU spec anti-glare high beams correctly because I'm really excited to try it out. Other than that, small things here and there that just make the car that much more convenient and make me happy for how cheap and easy they were to change and set up exactly how I like. Among my favorites was the immediate window closing and mirror folding using the lock on the fob, as well as unlocking the doors once the engine turns off (people get REALLY confused after they pull the door handle once and nothing happens, heh).
The only change that I reverted was the ASD configuration menu, I cracked up laughing once I saw the "MINI Sounds" menu show up under Settings and all the names they gave to the different ASD levels for the MINIs. I didn't even try to see if they worked, I just got the laptop out and disabled the menu altogether. Still made for a good laugh. IIRC, the loudest setting was called "The Cheeky Devil". Once again, thank you to the entire community, especially Shawn and DMNC02, as well as everyone else. I'll be glad to stick around and help out any other members that need help. |

So guys just picked up my new 16 ZCP. Looking to code some stuff soon but have not used my setup since the 15s were new. Would it be a good plan to just re-install all the software with the newest files or? Any advice?

Depending on which software you were running before, you may wish to update for newest mapping. You will likely need to update Psdzdata at least. You can check your I-step to learn whether you need newer files.

Follow the instructions, uninstall everything and delete contents of data directory before putting 59.0 files in.
