TE37SL center cap adapters just... don't fit
I'm not sure why i'm surprised by this after really thinking about it and looking at them rationally, but there's literally no room on these wheels for the center cap adapters to work correctly.
The f/r hubs just extend into the space where the adapters would sit, so what are my options here? Basically the only valid option I can think of is to run some small spacers and give them room to sit. I don't know that I have enough room in the rear though, and honestly at this point i'm tired of spending money to have center caps lol. Other than that, I guess I can always just try to sell all this stuff and then wire brush/paint the hub centers black. I'd much rather have center caps tbh, but I just don't see how they can work. Wheels are 19x9.5 +21, 19x10.5 +35.

Yeah that's probably what I need to do here. Doesn't seem like it's impossible to do.

Haha I wish! I guess i'm just a little caught off guard by the situation and assumed everything would be alright when it should be been obvious that it wasn't going to fit lol.

I used to work for a company that sold Volks and had connections with Mackin Industries (main distributor for Volks / Rays in North America). Mackin Industries informed me that SLs aren't compatible with centercaps. There's ways people made them work but they weren't easy

I bought some rubber clamps used for plumbing at home depot that matched the right size and cut them to the correct thickness, here is a pic from the back.

Sorry a newb to TEs, so SL's requires some work to make the center caps fit. While Ultra M spec fits center caps. Is that true? Thanks

That's a total bummer. I see where the hub comes out too much for the adapter to fit. Would dremeling out the areas where the hub sticks out work?

Wheels look a lot better and more finished with the caps imo.

That's helpful to know. I ended up throwing some small spacers on the front wheels anyway, so my fronts work but my rears are still using the "rubber gasket" method. Many thousands of miles they're still holding strong, but I really should just get them machined down.
