What is this hole in my bumper?

I had to replace my bumper cover for the car I bought and it has this factory hole in it? This car is loaded so I can't think of what else it could be for??

That's for sure not PDC. It's drilled by pre-owner or something like that.

why did the bumper need to be replaced? have you had the car since new?

only thing I can think of is the shop cut out holes for pdc in the new bumper and messed up.

That's bizarre. No idea what that hole is for, but it shouldn't be there. Orange peel on that bumper is quite nasty too.

Are you sure that's an OEM BMW factory bumper and not an aftermarket alternative?

To make sure we understand what you are saying here, the bumper in the picture is the new bumper, not the old one that was replaced, right?

Assuming that's correct, my first follow up question would be, did you replace the bumper yourself or did you take it to a shop?

Replacement BMW OEM Bumpers do not come painted...and that one is clearly repainted....badly.

So it isn't a new BMW OEM Part.

Mostly likely (if OEM) was sold cheaply as the hole was misdrilled.

I bought the car totaled. I replaced the bumper, fender and side skirt. Just never saw this hole until now. Weird.

Yes I know the paint job is bad. It’s going back to be completely redone.

Now just to find something that will snap into the hole and look factory, or have them fill it when it goes back to be redone.

A couple of weeks ago I pulled away the bumper cover to pop the right front parking sensor back in. There's nothing factory that's where that hole is.

Don't waste your time/money trying to find something to fill that hole. Since the bumper is getting repainted anyway, just have the shop bondo over that hole before repainting. It shouldn't be a big deal at all if the shop knows what they are doing.

And again, where did you buy the "OEM" Bumper from?

eBay. It matched the individual tanzanite and pdc/cams and I just never noticed this extra hole. Oh well. I'll fill it and move on.

Wrong pdc hole drilling
The factory f8x bumper comes with no holes and need paint-shop to drill (there are cross marks behind where the holes should be)
