I did not personally do it... Had a guy come to my buddies shop and we had a long night of coding on several cars

Unfortunately, "professionally" does not say much, but it is very helpful to get feedback (either positive or negative) from people with both packages.

Unless somebody else with both packages wants to step in reporting positive experience on this feature, I will take the conclusion to be that this feature cannot be properly activated on US cars by VO coding (at least, not without modifying the country variant).

I have every package and also coded this feature to my car. I tried it on some back roads and it looks like it works but I also did get flashed a few times. Not sure if it's because people automatically think I have highbeams on since the inners light up too? Especially when you're going up over a crest and oncoming can easily initially perceive it as your highbeams. I'll have to ask my wife to drive in front of me one of these nights to see if it's in fact blinding her too.
I didn't do a comprehensive coding - just the enable adaptive headlights feature.

The problem is, you need dark canyon roads for them to work efficiently... Too many lights in the city to effectively watch them engage

Well, this is a different issue. Are you saying that no-glare high beams do not turn on or that they do but blind other cars?

They turn on but since the normal roads have so many lanes, i still see it glaring on other people cars even though the beam is pointed towards the side of the road... My buddies were telling me that hey were going blind when i was behind them lol

Yeah, that seems to be the best way to test whether NGHB is working properly.

What puzzles me is that when I tried this driving behind my wife's car and alternating between low beams and NGHB, she was not bothered at all by NGHB. It is unlike her to not let me know if something annoys her

Subscribed. Hope someone finds the missing link to get this to work. I thought it was working for me and wasn't really sure until I blinded myself with my own high beams coming up behind a chrome tanker truck. LOL

If you haven't let someone else drive your car, and have them follow you at night with the adaptive high beams on, I highly suggest it. Give it a try and you probably will not use your adaptive high beams again until we can get this feature working properly.

I had my girlfriend drive the m3 and follow me home one night and it was very obvious when the adaptive high beam(s) were on. One headlight is ridiculously brighter than the other and it was blinding (even the 20% tint on our F30). It is distracting to say the least.

For the time being, Im adding 5AP back to the FA and go back to normal USA auto high beams.

I had mine coded by a friend and he asked me if I wanted super sensitive or standard... I chose standard and I use it at night all the time and never have gotten flashed (one lane road or highways). It works like a charm.

I have never heard of an option for "super sensitive" or "standard" in terms of coding for Anti Dazzle or Variable Light Distribution. In all the documentation i've looked over, there is never any reference to this, and that would make sense as this has just been modifying the FA and then VO coding, not FDL coding.

What exactly did he code for?

I have no idea what your friend means....but I suspect it must have something to do with Automatic headlamp sensitivity, but as far as I know that has nothing to do with Anti Dazzle and VLD.

The codes for that are:

FEM_Body>3130>RLS_DEF_FLC_SCHWELLWERT_SATZ>empfind lich (sensitive) sehr_empfindlich (very sensitive), or unempfindlich (insensitive)

FEM_Body>3130>RLS_FLC_SCHWELLWERT_SATZ>empfindlich (sensitive) sehr_empfindlich (very sensitive), or unempfindlich (insensitive)

That's the ONLY thing that I can see that would be related? And I thought that was F30 FDL coding...never seen anyone do that for the F80.

And I believe the above setting just handles how quickly your regular auto headlamps come on based upon lighting conditions outside.....

but that's the only coding I see that has anything to do with lighting that refers to sensitivity?

Yes, these should adjust how quickly the headlights turn on based on the signal from the Rain Light Sensor (RLS) and have nothing to do with NGHB.

After the negative reports this morning, I took another look at the parameters in TMS that should reflect whether or not the rolling cover is activated and I found some other parameters that MIGHT indicate that it is not fully activated yet. I am going to try to post on the other forum (simply because there seem to be more coding experts there). Hopefully, we can get to the bottom of this.

If anybody knows somebody in Europe that can provide us with a copy of his CAFD/NCD files, it would make things much easier.

So what you're telling me is that I gotta lie to the wife? Because EYE am the one that suggested springing for the LED's because of the video I saw. Maybe she'll think that the folks flashing her because of her brights are acknowledging how awesome the lil light show is?

You might have made the right move. There has been quite a bit of progress made today ...

The updates are in the Bimmerfest thread, since there is no point in duplicating the posts. I will make an "how to" guide once everything is ironed out, but we are close
