NP. The guys I went to COTA with last week had aggressive street tires driving to the track (square) and a set of slicks on their back seats (square). It was raining the first 2 days, so they ran street tires. They pulled out the slicks the 3rd day. That's where square setup comes in handy. I'm really glad my M3 has the winter package = the back seats fold down.

I just got off the phone with iND and EAS. They said there's no way we can ever fit 10.5" in the front. With stock suspension, maybe, but with after market coilovers (no chance). Volks don't make 10" wheels, either 9.5 or 10.5.

Apex EC-7 is the most popular and will clear our calipers. It's pretty light and strong, can't go wrong with it.

Yes, this is why many of us have settled for staggered track setup for now. Torque of the S55 whole different animal than the S65, so more rubber in rear is beneficial. Those bigger wheels don't fit up front unfortunately though.

EC-7 19x9.5 ET 22, 265/35 R888 front
EC-7 19x10 ET 25, 295/30 R888 rear (10.5 not available in proper offset)

I have about 6 track days with this setup and it works great. Just remember to foil tape over the wheel weights so they don't fall off from the heat, and take the center caps out cause they will melt from the heat too.

I've never melted a center cap but I can see that happening... I have to push the car harder this Spring and try to melt one

nvm just re read your post.
In my E92, I was able to fit all 4 track wheels across on the back seat. Suitcase would sit on the floor behind the passenger seat, helmet behind the driver's seat. Tool box, compressed air tank, spare tire (when needed), cooler, jack, 2 garden seats all fit in the trunk and the wife (when she joins me) on the front passenger seat .

I certainly hope to achieve the same with the M4
have you gotten your wheels yet? I am about to pull the trigger on a square set of ec7 18x10et25... wrapping with nt01 275/35/18... seems like this should be a good start for a casual track guy. im on stock adaptive suspension and no plans to change that ...

I would go Apex EC-7 ET33 instead of ET25. ET25 will stick out a bit in a rear. For ET33, just get a 12mm spacers in front. None required for the rear, then it will be flush. (TCKline uses 12mm front/5mm rear spacers)

Also, I would stick to 275/40/18 - more common size and beefier.

i have the 18x10 et33's and they fit perfect imo. I run a 10mm spacer up front and nothing in the rear. These pics are all I really have of the fitment. The black makes it hard to see in most of the pics.

does the "et25 sticks out too far" apply to m3 and m4? I have the m3 if that matters ... eas was leaning me towards et25 also ...

good info though thanks!

terribly noob question but will that be the same fitment as the f80? I thought they were slightly different ...

Our stock M3 wheels are ET40. At ET25, I believe you would stick out 5mm. ET33 would be ideal, especially if you plan on using slick tires like Hoosier which are wider than actual sizing. I also have an F80, I plan on using ET33 square with 10-12mm front spacers.

the YMB m3 in the apec wheel gallery is et33 with 285/30 tires and he's lowered too and says he has zero rubbing with 10mm/5mm spacers f/r

I was kind of hoping to avoid spacers which is why I liked the idea of the et25... And I doubt I'll go to Hoosiers on this car but et33 may give me more options in the future...

so many considerations lol

Nothing's wrong with spacers, especially if you have stud conversion for tracking. Stud conversion also gives you more wheel lock options.

nitto nt01. 275/35. This was my first time on these tires and I felt they were great. I didn't get to compare laps with my stock super sports because I only ran the ss in the wet. The nittos had really good grip and didnt get greasy even up to like 160* indicated on the display. There was times I went in too hot (I thought) but the car just kept taking it as hard as I pushed it. I like the square setup, on stock tires at other tracks i felt the car needed more steering.

I bought a stud kit and spacers from turner. I had zero issues. The turner spacers are cool and interlock in the stock hub and fit really well. I'd recommend those and studs to people who are going to see track time.

Correcting my last statement. M3 and M4 have the exact same offset require my and width. So if it works for an M4, it will work for an M3. ET33 it is

I'm convinced that et33 might be the setup for me ... since I won't be seeing but 2-3 track events + autoX each year I'll probably skip the stud kits for now. just gotta wait for some black wheels now.. not readily available per my last discussion with eas

I'll look into those, not sure I'll go with them since I'm only doing probably 2-3 weekends/year for the next few years ... I'll take a look though. thanks!
