Actually its 316D, not an M3 and not a CS. This is an hommage/replica and I would never slap a badge on something its not.

5 actually would
Unfortunately they keep buying SUVs!
That's a fact. I have a F31, last Touring to come to the US.... the X3M is the M3 wagon...
This is correct.

People say lots of things. I'm intrigued to see how many of the self-professed wagon lovers actually shell out cold hard cash for the beautiful RS6

This car is so good! We need more wagons in America.

As a whole the car, wheel, and brake color don't seem like the they'd match but somehow it all comes together very well.

I think for the last few years the F80 has been the best looking sedan of any manufacturer and a wagon version is just that much better.

If I had the money, I wouldn't hesitate to buy/build one of these.

Massive props for the work, the color is fucking terrible and so are the wheels but great work.

It's funny as hell when people actually ask "why doesn't bmw make this car?" Because nobody would buy it except the .00001% of bmw owners on this forum.

BMW doesn't have to release the car, just release an official kit that allows people to build the car using scraped F31 frames. That would've been awesome.

They won't make an M2 Sedan either.

Apparently they don't like making Mo money mo money .. mo money ...

and they don't like winning US luxury automaker sales crowns either .. :

If MB and Audi, see the market for fast wagons, here in Europe at least, it is a little surprising that BMW don't cater for this sector in the same way. The closest we get is the M340i and of course the Alpina B3.

A 3-series sized wagon would crush it, IMO.

I would buy one, in fact, w/6MT this would be my dream car, not kidding.

That's right but there is at least a chance that the new generation will bring us a wagon. It's in discussion.

So what?

Why not have the best of both worlds?

If there were an M5 estate I would have considered it.

It's funny reading the comments. The Touring is a low selling car, so much so that they dropped it in the US.... I moved from a Subaru Outback to an F31 and love the power and quality increase, but when you break it down they are both wagons!!

The Outback is considered more of a crossover but it's just a wagon with a higher ride height (4 inches or so over the Legacy).

There's a stigma in the US with the word 'wagon' - I saw the UK posters with 'hearse' instead of estate... that's half of the issue here.

When I change my car I'm not sure what I'll move to. I hate the fact I can't see when backing out of a parking spot when between a coupe of SUV's so maybe I'll get a higher ride height but then handling is an issue!

I doubt many M3 wagons/ routings/ estates would sell. As an F31 owner I wouldn't buy one... I wouldn't get an X3M either. I drove the new M340i last week, seems like a better option given the crappy road surfaces! 380+ hp and capable of been a daily driver.

I can’t think of a station wagon without thinking of something from the 70’s that was only bought to haul kids and dogs around before the SUV became popular.
