New Window Tint - Air Bubbles
Yesterday I had my rear windows and windshield tinted. 70% windshield, 20% rear windows. All with nano-ceramic. There are noticeable air bubbles (ripples) in the windshield and rear window (I'll post some pics later today). I now some bubbles are normal and will evaporate over days/weeks. But, how much is normal?

Also make sure you aren't using that window while it sets for 3 days. |

This is normal. Ceramic tint is thicker and all of my ceramic tinted cars have more noticeable spots. All of them go away within a day and definitely within a few days. That said, these spots are not actual raised bubbles. The tint lays flat to the window, but there is clearly a thin sheen of liquid that gives it that spotty look. It's the same thing I get when I apply a protective screen cover to my iPad. By the next morning, it's all gone.

I would park your car outside in the sun all day. Most of the bubbles should go away if it's hot and sunny. Then wait a few more days and if they still don't go away, it's possible that there are dust specs under the tint and they will have to redo it.
Btw, you asked how much is too much. I've had 6 vehicles tinted and usually would not see more than 5-10 bubbles total after each tint job. Last 3 were all ceramic, before that was semi metallic. The last one I did had a few bubbles in one area that never went away (turned out to be dust specs - I decided to leave it because they weren't in a noticeable part of the car. That is a little more than normal but as others have suggested, give it a week and take it back if it hasnt reduced.
I had a bubble full of soap in my roof PPF that didnt go away until ~5 months. Size of a lady bug that slowly reduced over time. |

That's a lot of bubbles. Hopefully they all go away. It does make me question the skill and quality of the installer to be honest. It's sloppy work to leave that many bubbles in my opinion.

OP - unless they've changed the laws there, TX maximum allowable tint is 30%. You might want to check that out. When I moved here to NC, where it's 35% max, I had to have both cars re-tinted or they would not pass inspection.

Happened to mine too. It was worse in the rear windshield.
They went away after a week or so. I think the F82 is a difficult car to tint. I rarely see these tinted properly. F80 in comparison is much easier. The dot matrix screws up any tint job.

Please take it back to the installer, it should not take more th an a day or so just to open after the window tint is installed let alone a bubble trapped should have be taken out with a razor blade and heat gun while you were there at the shop.
