I installed the tape and it made a huge difference although there are a few minor squeaks every once in a while. I'm going to supplement with Gummi Pflege to see if that gets rid of the squeaks completely.

I'm gonna do this when I get my car back. I love my M3, but for $80k I'm kind of annoyed that I even have to do this type of stuff.

I've had many cars around that sort of price and squeaking is the least of your worries! It's an easy fix.

My Audi RS3 for instance squeaked like an old truck coming to a stop and liked some new discs and pads every 18K KMs...engineered to a budget I guess.

Does the teflon tape fix work with the F83 convertible? (No window door frame)

My wife's 2018 M3 creaked like an old boat. Took it to the dealer and they said that they see this all the time on the F80 and F30. The Shop Foreman, a friend of mine, said they've done "hundreds".
Do you know if there is a service bulletin for this? If so would it be the same for US and Canada? I spoke to the dealer and got the typical "we've never heard this before". The dealers in the Toronto area use the standard deflect and deny approach its very predictable and annoying. I'd love to stick a bulletin in their faces and tell them to cut the shit.

I just bought a roll of UHMW tape and affixed it inside the door trim (inside the red area) where the rubber seal meets the shadow line trim pieces. Fixed.

I can't say. I just mentioned the creaking to my service advisor when the car was in for a scheduled service and they said that they see this a lot and would do it. I have no idea whether this applies to Canada or not.

It was a pretty common problem for F30s and F80s though. I'd do a Google search and present the results to your dealer.

Gotta give a huge to one of my buddies in my local ///M group from mstreet_carclub for recommending this to me. TO BE CLEAR, this isn't a 100% fix, but it definitely took the creaking sound down by about half (use a generous amount) I like this cause you don't have to measure or cut anything, and there is no worries about it pealing off, plus it protects!
Anyway, thought i would do a little before/after comparison for anyone looking for another solution
