For those interested in Brixton, check out this developing thread about their wheels failing.

Looks like Brixton Forged stepped it up and is doing right by their customer.

It's unfortunate that things like this happen, but as a user on those forums stated - it's the risk you take on the track. Either way, buying a set of Brixton should leave very little to no doubt as to their level of customer service based on what happened to that guy.

Yeah at first they told him it wasn't covered under warranty. After he started that thread they came around, so good on them for stepping up.

That thread was great, until it was hijacked.

Does anyone know what steps Brixton took to stand behind their product?

As a dealer of their wheels, I am just as concerned about them standing behind their product as you guys are. The last thing i want to do is sell a product after seeing a situation where the will not take care of the customer and make things right. After seeing this, i reached out to Brixton directly to see what they are doing to make things right, and according to them, that customer is getting a new wheels built at the moment and will be getting the broken wheel replaced at no cost.

I can understand that things happen, especially at the track, but to know that they are standing behind their product should make everyone, including me, feel a lot better.

Good to hear they are taking care of their customer.

So was the cracked wheel a one-off defect/mishap, or is there a larger issue with their design or manufacturing process?

I have no idea. All i did was reach out to make sure they were taking care of the customer. Beyond that, i have no clue what happened.

I would guess that it was cracked because of track use. I have seen (on a couple occasions) $9000 BBS FI-R's crack on the track, so its not like a broken wheel on the racetrack is a huge surprise to me.

I am also a dealer for Brixton and have a more in depth relationship with the staff and owners of Brixton. I track a lot that's my way of showcasing products to my customers in my area. I have used Brixton on my cars and as Vivid have seen 10k wheels brake including ADV-1 wheels etc. A common mistake I have seen is people going 19" and 20" for wheels to use at the track instead of the OEM size the car brings. Even tough they are light weight and strong, that's way to big to use on the track. If you you gonna buy aftermarket wheels for a car that is gonna be tracked recommended is for you to use the same OEM size of the car but change the width, we have ordered like that for customers on various wheels from different brands and usually we haven't seen any problem.

But this is the first time to be heard of Brixton having an "issue" with a wheel. I can say they are very reliable, light weight and strong, track use, that's a whole different ball game. So if you ever wish to buy either from Vivid, my self or any Brixton Dealer, do so witch confidence. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to contact me or Vivid for questions.

They all get the certified by TUV T6-606 aluminum. As per which is the testing standard under TUV I my self have looked around but haven't been able to find it. If you do please let me know the process because I really want to know.
