Want a real swoosh sound? Buy SSR Performance intakes, those mofos are loudddd. They'll make VRSF feel like the stock airbox.

But remember, now you're sucking hot air. You will loose low end power as well.

no comment on the SSR but with these type of intakes you are like he said, basically sucking in hot air.

It may suck the warmer air in your engine bay, but top mount intercooler cools the air from the charge pipes into the engine.

The top mount intercooler can only do so much.

Sucking HOT air from an engine bay is counter-productive.

Same as running aluminum intakes that will heat soak.

So, basically we have heat happy aluminum intake piping sucking hot air that that will ultimately cause heat soak and a massive loss in low end.

The OEM airway paired with OEM plastic intakes is highly efficient at sourcing cooler air and keeping the temps as low as possible. IF necessary just drop some K&H or BMC filters.

On the other hand, the SSR intakes sound SO GOOD.

You had the SSR intakes right? Did you get rid of them?

I also heard that Eventuri intakes actually suck air in from the outside like the oem box. Is that true?

I do have a set of SSR intakes, I swap them in every now and then to enjoy the induction noise. However, I am not blind folded by the fact that using aluminum piping (energy/heat conductor) and on top of that sucking hot air from the engine bay is counter productive.

Eventuri sucks hot air too, they do use scoops to direct some cooler air from outside of the engine bay to inside. But they still suck hot air. Bellow you will find a photograph of the open system Eventuri uses.
