Looking very promising and quite high tech for the new M of the 3/4 series...

Power maybe 'just' 430HP; but weight is reduced with a minimum of 80kg. With uprated torque and lighter weight, the car will perform better on straights and more important through corners.

Looking forward for a steer in the new M4.

As I noted earlier, the press release says "significantly more" than 369 lb ft Tq, whatever that means.

Correct, it will be almost identical to m5. Depends if u do rollout etc. But, I bet the true 0-60 will be hair faster than m5 with 1/4 the same (driver dependent obviously). Just like the m5, 1/4 times will vary from 11.7-12.3 range and good drivers should be able to break 12 stock.

It's too bad they went the wrong direction as far as weight/size for the m5....I think the m3 will be more enjoyable for me (besides exhaust).

The engine surely is underrated. The true power should be at least 450hp and close to 400flbs torque

Is this some kind of mechanical limitation somewhere? It is too... coincidental.
Gives a nice, round 500 when measured in Nm....and probably tuned to have a BMW torque curve instead of turbo lag

Now let's hope that those carbon fiber seats that have been under speculation get homologated for the U.S. market. Though, with our regulation, it's wishful thinking at best.

Sweet. Wonder if it will be available for a ED by spring break (late March early April). Making a lot of trips to Germany this year.

Still dreaming of a sub 1000Kg Z2M.

That would make sense.

Car sounds good in the Autocar video. Makes me wonder about active sound.

Where's the guy that said his inside source was sure it was a triple turbo diesel?

Honestly can you imagine this with some minor tweaking and a JB4.

>closed-decked crankcase

closed deck block they mean?

why? it's not pushing crazy power, and that just adds weight = bad and cost = bad

and that radiator setup looks ridiculously gumby

wtf is that flat one? haha

Nope. I'll take a high-revving V8 over a FI 6. I don't care if it's a little faster. Still going to be an awesome car.

I'm sold, but will wait for the M4 competition unless they release an M4 CSL.
