That being said, $500 every two years is only $20/month and I think stage 2 is well worth that

Same thing in Georgia and a whole bunch of other states. Google Vinwiki and a bunch of other posts earlier this year on folks getting tracked down by state DMV and tax agents for having cars garaged and located in states with out of state plates on a regular basis. Even some folks neighbors were reporting on them...so not worth the risk I'd say for most of us.
