No blind spot detection on heritage M4?
Hi All,
I've had no luck scouring the internet, owner's manual, and even bimmerpost forums. Wondering if another '20 F82 Heritage edition owner can help me answer this: I see what I presume to be the active blind spot warning triangle on the side mirror housing. However, it does not ever get activated. Does it require the lane departure setting to be activated as well in order to function? Looking in iDrive under Safety Intelligence (IIRC) there was only a setting for intensity of pedestrians in vehicle range. However, the car IS equipped with Active Driving Assistant.... Thanks in advance |

All cars have the triangle cutout. If you have blind spot detection, it's should be white/clear. If the triangle cutout is the same color as your mirror then you don't have it.

US Heritage editions do not have HUD or Blind Spot Monitoring.

Heritage editions are basically left overs with 3 colors , left over parts from the F80 like to get rid of them and make you feel special for calling it Heritage edition.

Just throw the shitty US DOT mirrors out and install European convex mirrors. Less blind spots.

Haha. Glad you are a great sport about it. Some of these luxury euro cars don't have basic things like this and they have to optioned. It's annoying but it's how it's always been. On the flip side, it's wonderful for those individuals who don't care for it/want it.

Some things BMW did with this platform make no sense. Just like the ‘weight saving’ CS that omitted a center console and comfort access for weight reasons but stuck a leather dash and rear window shades on the build ticket...
Confirmed there is no BSM on heritage cars. |

Honestly, I picked up a Heritage because I got a decent deal, wanted 6MT (otherwise better CS deals could have been had). The interior CF and the roof is awesome IMO. That plus the individual color sold me but the seat stitching "Heritage" makes me glad I don't have eyes behind my head.
If anyone is buying a Heritage and thinks they are getting something special that sucks for them lol. I absolutely think the ~$9K they are charging for it is egregious. |

9k for the heritage package is absurd but heritage edition are being sold at really cheap, to the point that it would just make sense to buy it new. bought mine at 11k under msrp, even a used with very little miles would be like not much lower than this and u getting 0.9% interest on this which i don't know if you can get on an used. most importantly, there's nada new m4s within 200 miles radius of chicago area that's not a heritage edition...
sucks not having exec pkg but i'm happy it at least have zcp on it... the special interior carbon fiber trims look nice but i'm having difficulty imagining normal cf parts next to these as they look pretty different.

No HUD is the deal breaker for me.
