If you pick enough options, most cars can be considered rare. If you have an individual color, sure. A manual individual color, sure. But once you start adding in zcp and another two or three options is where it starts to get less relevant.

To be frank, sunroof cars are more "rare" than manuals. Manuals are less common at best.

Holy crap! BMW made a ton of these things compared to the E90 M3! I can only imagine how many more M4s there will be than E92/E93 M3s.

With these crazy high production numbers, I guess it means the F8x M3/M4 will not be a future collectable.

No way, it's not normal for a real ///M car to lose 50% or more of its value in 3 years!!

BMW made too many of them and mass marketed them and it clearly shows with resale value. This also proves itself as clean e9x m3 prices are now on the rise with most 2013 models selling in the $46-52k range, or more for special edition ones

We are in 2019, take a look at cars.com for 2015 M3s. How do you figure the 2015's have lost 50% or more of their value? You are implying most of those M3s stickered between $92-104K???

First off it's like 2 weeks into 2019 so don't give me that crap. Also yes in Canada where my info is from, 2015 m3s are selling in the high 40s to low 50s and yes they did sticker for over $100k here.. some as high as $125k and these cars have anywhere from 35k kms to 60k kms so not high mileage versions either

No need to get testy. Base price for an M3 in 2015 was $62,925, most M3s retailed anywhere from $70K-80K, also half if not 3/4 of the 2015 M3s were produced in 2014, so the 2015 M3s are more than 3 years old. Your doom and gloom scenario is a bit over the top. Like I said, normal depreciation.

Run. When I was considering a used 2018 M2, it was advertised as being an early lease return from one of the dealership sales staff (who are supposed to be eligible for short 6 month leases). I had assumed it would be a CPO, but told it wasn’t, because of the cost associated having it a CPO vehicle - but it was very well maintained. Based on that response, I didn’t even consider the car.
