I'm not sure if break-in period has an affect on oil and coolant temp targets. But I'm pretty certain other external factors change how the car deals with temperature targets. For instance, I noticed that on hot days (over 95F ambient), the car, even if kept in efficient mode, usually won't let the coolant temp go over 200F. It'll also keep the oil a bit cooler than usual also. |

My feel with oil temperature is that you want to boil the water moisture out of the oil. So above 212F is good at times.
