Even though I think it might just be a suggestion by marketing - we only/most of the times see the color combos M3 YMB and M4 AY...

Really? Do you think?
Could also be "they picked the colors and we make a reason out of it"

I'm also not a big fan of black wheels, but it does go well with the ymb/black trim theme...and BBS LM's are nowhere near ugly. The YMB looks great on the M5, again I think because it's a sedan. I think it'd look weird on a M6 coupe, but would be interesting to see on a M6 GC... |

That said, it's not my choice since I drive a convertible and if it was YMB I'd have to get out of the car everytime like this: |

The more I see of this color the more I love it. To me it looks way better outside of the showroom floor and all the fluorescent lighting. My pendulum swings between YMB and Azurite Black daily, but I'm leaning more and more towards YMB.
As much as I love Azurite Black, YMB is a gorgeous color that I feel only works on a very small number of cars. The M3 happens to be one of them in my opinion and I don't think I can pass up the opportunity. |

I would probably not order this color on any other car...
