When i saw the video- i was really surprised that they basically were fully power adjustable and had memory feature?! I appreciate the adjustments as the Porsche GT Bucket Seats are too hardcore for most M3/4 owners. I wish it was just manual rather than power to save further weight.

Even the Porsche buckets have electric height adjustment.

Weight savings far secondary to their support & function in a 2 ton M3 imo.

I totally get the comments about the black hiding the ugliness better than any other color. When I see this image, the first thing that comes to mind is that there are too many holes in the front. Those canards are a joke, too.

The canards are literally one of the funniest accessories I've ever seen. I pointed that out on the reveal but I think they went unnoticed for a while due to the realization that we were looking at a BMW Type R

Also, I’m still incredibly perplexed by the concept of carbon buckets in a car this heavy. This video has now clarified that they aren’t true buckets, just a lighter electric seat with carbon seat backs... very boy racer

The front end of the A5 looks much more balanced and seems to fit the vehicle when compared to the new 4er. The new grille on the new 4er is just in your face and doesn't even come close to fitting the vehicle. Way to radical, but what's new, we have been saying this all along. :

TBH I've met my share of M owners who don't know squat about the car they are driving other than "I drive an M". I imagine many G8X owners will be the same. Usually ends with me saying "nice" or "cool car" or "I have to return some videotapes..."

Nothing wrong with it, I've just always had the same thought about that type of owner... they'd be MUCH happier in an AMG. AMG in my mind is the ultimate putt-putt car; much better at the day to day thing than an M. I suppose that's why M is taking it's current direction. But IMO, why live with the idiosyncrasies of Biermann era M (catchall for pre-2015) cars if you don't know or appreciate the first thing about them?

Something else to consider is that the pretty carbon on the back of the seats will get scratched really easily. I put all kinds of stuff (including my race wheels & tires) in the rear seats of my car and on the rear floor, and it bumps against the seats. If I had carbon-backed seats they'd be ruined.

You know how many people bitch about the lack of Comfort Access in any car these days? CS didn't have it and people got mad. Too lazy to click a button on a key fob they're carrying with them anyway. Same with manual seats. Way too many people would probably go, "this is a 95k car and it doesn't have memory seats?"

Yeah, could PPF it like any surface really. I know Xpel is now selling PPF for interior pieces like the awful gloss black trims; they've got a pre-cut set for the 992's centre console.
