Which options do I have when it comes to upgrading my CarPlay to fullscreen?

The car currently has wireless CarPlay but it only use 2/3 of the screen.

I have a 2017 F31 with iDrive 5 and NBT-H firmware and factory carplay. It's suffering from the rebooting issue and I'm looking to have it reflashed to try and solve the problem. Since I'm bothering with that, I also want to get full screen carplay while I'm at it. Is your service good for iDrive completely reflashed before a firmware and full-screen carplay update?

We can reflash but you have to be aware that it might brick during flashing couse of that rebooting issue you’re having

From what I've read, I'm guessing that reflashing it will take longer than the interval between restarts, which is around 8-10 minutes. If it's bricked, can it be restored if I put a new HD in it?

No, it cannot be restored like that if it's bricked.

Refreshing takes 25 minutes

Ok- so if I find a used working unit and have it coded to my car, is that the next best thing to do?

My suggestion to those who have a ID4 head unit but want CarPlay is to change out the head unit to HW version 3.2 or 4.1 that the factory started installing in vehicles manufactured from July 2016. Contrary to popular belief, this is an affordable option that does not require going through a company like Bimmertech and paying their exorbitant prices for this equipment (provided you have an NBTevo head unit to start with). Briefly:

My 2016 F83 M4 (March 2016 build) had the ID4 head unit (HW version 2.3). I bought a used HW version 3.2 head unit, touchscreen and iDrive controller (all in excellent condition) from Straight Six Auto Parts, which is a licensed California BMW dismantler. Straight Six has a TON of excellent quality BMW parts from vehicles that have been parted out, probably as a result of being totaled. This includes the iDrive components needed for this upgrade. Check out their eBay store here: https://www.ebay.com/str/straightsixautoparts I worked with a guy there named Hunter, who is very knowledgeable and responsive.

Finally, as many of you already know, kubax86 did the coding work and everything works perfectly in my car, like it was always there. I highly recommend him.

2015 m4, looking for carplay, but an oem experience for as cheap as possible. Does anyone have and recommendations? Ive also seen some install a larger 10.25 x4 touch screen, the stock screen feels incredibly tiny

Chinese MMI or whole ID6 retrofit.

Check out Straight Six Auto Parts, a certified California BMW dismantler, on eBay. They have used ID6 head units (among countless other BMW parts) for sale at relatively inexpensive prices. Here’s one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/22560993837...mis&media=COPY
