That dark gray looks more Singapore Gray than Mineral Gray but it's probably just the lighting - it's amazing how much the look of metallic paints can vary under different conditions and camera settings. I do hope Singapore will be an option...it looks great on the M5/M6 and IMO more exciting than Mineral Gray.

I hope Austin Yellow is the same yellow as the concept M4 color. I really like Aurum Dust. I am however in my mid-40 and this maybe to bold for me...

This is exactly what I am hoping too.. It looks like BMW is saying that AU is similar to AD but I am wondering what the chances are that they are actually one in the same? How different can they be? Maybe AY doesnt have the same amount of flake in it as AD; maybe thats it. I would be fine with that but I just hope the true color of AY does not deviate too much from AY. I am not a yellow car kind of guy but for AD, I definitely could be! Even before I became an enthusiast, I love Phoenix Yellow on the E46 M3.

So do we think that there is any chance that AY and AD are actually exactly the same?

How do we know that the supposed AY in the first spy pic in not actually just a test mule / Concept car painted in AD? Thoughts?

I am with you, but I have an Alpine White car now and I can't do it 2 cars in a row. It will look sharp if you like the color. The blue is more childish than the yellow, and the other colors are either super high maintenance (black) or boring IMO.

Garage List
It is a bold, head turning color, something different from your regular yellow.

Any thoughts on how AY with Sonoma Beige Full Merino might look? Has anybody even seen Sonoma Beige yet?

Wink Austin Yellow vs Aurum Dust

Austin Yellow - BASF pigment -Metal flakes less shiny texture

Aurum Dust - Merck pigment - Glass flake texture more luster Crystal

Tone are identical both.
Key to factor in sunlight conditions to compare both colors on the same stage.
I have more photos here.

Ok I am happy.. From the looks of the pictures, AY seems to more of a deep gold and AU looks like it has more of a highlighter effect at some angles (which is still awesome!).

So the next question is will any other interior go well with this except black? I am definitely getting AY but I really dont want to half to get an all black interior. I know some people opted for red seats with PY which seemed ok at times and horrible at others. I think red seats only might work on the M4. The red and AY works on the back with the tail lights. Other than that, I guess the only other real contender to black would be senoma beige which also could work but it might not be aggressive enough for such an aggressive color. That being said, red might be TOO loud... DAMNIT! What is a guy to do?! (1st world problems).. I just wish there was an alcantera option so I could feel better about going all black inside without it boring me.
