The new kids on the block arrive to the party early and then there's the fashionably late e30.

What the f**k! This guy totally messed up the launch of the E92. Poor car .

Man I miss my E93. Listen to the intake noise during the launch video. The only two cars with a great sounding are the E46CSL and the E92 in this vid.

I mean if they added an E36 GT to the mix I'd be a little more forgiving

Literally if you watch the finish line it's only a matter of car lengths ; seconds between each.
Not a lot in reality...add corners and it would instantly level the playing field.
Power to Weight and of course braking would show closer gaps for sure.
The e30 has always been an above 6 second zero to 60mph car ...it has no torque.
Having owned numerous ones I can swear to it. It's a momentum car not a drag car.
I think all of them represented well for their eras and in a straight line.

That's still a 3.0.

Make it the S50B32 powered coupe for good measure.

Unless it was a super tight autocross course the E30 would have done worse. They had a test of an E30 M3 vs all the others on the track and it was significantly slower, I will need to find the article, even as a better handler, (its really not, its softer with a slower rack), with equal drivers it cant over come the power difference.

That being said I love the E30!

It always depends on the driver anyhow
But I agree ... that's why I swapped a Euro 3.2 into mine... [IMG][/IMG]

Am I the only one with my OCD kicking in and getting frustrated that they didn't line them up by generation?

Yes it would have been a much cooler shot and also easier to show the difference between them.

I think something´s wrong with the csl, I think a normal e46 m3 would´ve done better than this csl did

I just have to say how timeless the E46 generation M3 is; it still looks as beautiful as always.

Also surprised how deep the exhaust sound of the CS is in comparison to the six cylinder of the E46 (sound before the drag race)

Had a 2003.5 E46 M3 (after the engine bearing fiasco). Great fun on the track. As a daily driver on the street...not so much.

That E46 design inside - out, is timeless...
Simple lines, heavy personality.

Is anyone else surprised at how badly the CSL seemed to be? It barely pipped the e30 on the rolling start.

I hear you but, I still say even if you would take them to the track, the F8x will will number 1.
