The other thing to keep In mind is that you can easily get the following discounts on non-CS models which you wont be able to get on CS:

-5 to 7% off
-2% off from BMW Trillium

Furthermore, the ultimate package adds many more options that the CS wont have such as MPE, Carbon package, etc.
First lets correct your comparison

Base is 77,550 + 3900 (why exclude DCT when CS has it) + 500 (interior carbon) = 106 450$. Add 5k for individual colour which is included in the CS.

Have you looked at pictures of a CS? It has a carbon package, a unique one at that.

Have you heard the CS? It has a CS specific exhaust and sounds great, no reason to get MPE.

Second, every dealer I've spoken to or heard about (5+) have available incoming CS that are unspoken for. Discounts are offered. Given the timing of when they will get here (sept-nov) I suspect they will sit and wouldnt be surprised if larger discounts will be offered.
I was a big proponent of how I thought the CS was decent value for what it is. However when I found out there was no lease available that worried me. If BMW isn't willing to gamble on a "residual number" neither am I. I was prepared at one point to pay cash but when they released the individual colors at no cost it's hard to not start looking. For basically $50k less I got a Laguna Seca Blue car with cloth interior and 19's. Cancelled the CS last week which is sad because I followed its build but I can't justify tying up that cash for only a slightly better version of an already amazing car.
That's smart. A free individual paint, ZCP, cloth interior with exec pack out the door in $65+k range is close to F80 nirvana.

The CS does pull at me hard though. Wish it was a bit less money.

Guess I should add that was last week. They may be getting a bit more motivated to unload. Also every market and demand Is diffrent. Some dealerships high volume others low so P&L can differ. Some are in new buildings with high lease geographies others the opposite. This factors into what the consumer and salesperson can negotiate to final price.

My local dealer had a similar deal available this past weekend, although I was interested in leasing it. Was able to negotiate the cost down by a total of almost $17K off the MSRP to get the monthly payments where I needed to be. Now is the time to get a deal on a 2018 M3 CS! I am really loving it ...makes the M4 competition package I test drove seem like a clunker! Huge difference with the CS.

Can you shed some lights on your deal? I'm in the market for a CS.

Chapman BMW in Arizona has two CS on their website. Each showing a discount of $12k.

I got mine from them last week and was offered even more off MSRP.

Thank you! Is it correct that CS does not have comfort access?

Nothing to shed. Apparently dealers are very motivated to move the 2018 model. Especially on a car with a limited audience such as the CS.

The red sales tag they had on this one in the showroom stated "$1,000/Month Lease ...was $1,500/Month" ..when I asked my sales person about it he said there were a lot of discouraging factors involved in that quote, such as $10k down, 7,500 annual miles, etc.

I was in love with the car and it seemed attainable so we went to run the numbers. I asked him where we would be with $5k down and 12K miles. He came back with $1,470. When I told him that was too high, he replied with the old "if - then" statement, at which point I knew the deal was mine for the taking :-) I offered him a take it or leave it of 12k per year with $5K down. He haggled with me a bit and my wife even got nervous and tried to get me to come up ha ha. But I held my ground and he came back with the contract.

The car was already marked down by $7k before we started negotiating. So coming down from $1,470 to $1,200 monthly equates to almost another $10K off the car value over the term of 36 months.

If you are in the market for a CS I believe now would be the best time to pull the trigger. I think they are pretty much willing to break even on the CS and be happy with the points, etc.

No comfort access and also I did not realize until after the fact that it also has none of the side view cameras for parking. Only park distance control. No worries here, just one of the novelties of driving a race car ..I am just thankful for rear seats at this point. Everything else is gravy!

The absence of Comfort Access killed it for me. I was willing to live with everything else.

Oddly, the one thing that is bugging me is no outdoor temperature sensor (from what I can tell). The marketing specs for M3 CS do list outdoor temp sensor, but I am not seeing it anywhere and I've been through the entire manual and all the iDrive options.

The only way to see current outdoor temp is to open the Weather Channel app found in Idrive, at the point where the app completely fills the display screen. Selecting the Weather Channel app as part of the split screen display only allows you to see the daily high and low temp prediction. I don't how long it's been since I have driven ANY vehicle which does not actively display outdoor temperature! So annoying...

My M4cs does have the outdoor temperature. Did you cycle through the BC button functions (button at the end of the turn signal stalk, the bottom one if you have HBA)?

Yes, I actually figured that out on the way to work after I posted this. I like to leave the running MPG on there, but I check the weather more often, so it is now set on outdoor temp. I must reiterate ...the sheer joy of driving surpasses all else. What an amazing vehicle!

If you turn off the digital speedo (displayed in the instrument cluster), outside temp and time of day are permanently displayed and you can use the BC button to select whatever third parameter you wish displayed, such as mpg.

Personnaly, I use the trip computer as displayed in the tile menu in iDrive if I want to monitor fuel consumption (you can have it reset automatically for each trip if you wish). Further, with the connected app, you can receive a notification after each trip that even tells how many liters/gallons of fuel you consumed. But, in the end, I don't really care how much fuel my car gobbles up .

Wow, great tips! I am just getting accustomed to this machine and like my previous M3 I am sure I will be learning for some time to come! I do have the connected app and I will probably implement the same setup on iDrive. The digital speedo is superfluous. Appreciate the info!
