I have my M3 CP with week of production 13 and week of delivery 25, when production ends?

Well, delivery doesn't matter. My car has a production week of 18, but will be delivered on week 27.

At best. History would suggest it will start only after production of the previous generation has wrapped up. The F83 will be the last of the bunch to end production in late 2020. So it is still very possible we don't see the G80 until early 2021. That would also correspond to a seven year cycle from the start of F8x M3 production in early 2014.

However, given how strong the competition has become, BMW may want to launch the new generation earlier than that. So, if we instead turn our attention toward the time between the G30 5 Series and the G90 M5, that was just over a year (late 2016 to early 2018). With the G20 3 Series launching in late 2018, it could mean we see the G80 M3 arrive on lots early 2020.

At any rate, if you want a new M3 and don't want to wait at least two years, then yes, you should get one now.
Correct but trying to be one of the first has proved difficult and you will pay out the bum.

I got the second F80 allocation at my dealership back in 2014. They offered me $2000 off to start. So what you say is not always the case. Sure, some dealerships, particularly those in the "Me first!" markets, may be able to get MSRP (or even above) when the car first debuts and there is a pent up demand. But if you are willing to reach out to dealerships in smaller markets, you can avoid that nonsense.

I put an order in for an F80 M3 Comp in Tanzanite last week; the genius and dealer I've been working with for 20 years said if I hadn't gotten it in by May it likely wouldn't have happened.

Congrats! Curious if you received an allocation yet? I have an order in the system but no allocation and no production number as of yet. I'm getting a great deal and I love my dealer so sticking with them but anxious to know if I will actually get an allocation or not.

I have a CS allocation with build week of 23...seems maybe this is when standard F80's complete and CS's begin?

Personally, I would not get a first model year unless there is a really compelling reason to do so.

That is typically the compelling reason - being first!

OK, I can understand the desire to be the first with a new model (even though I would wait).

Another scenario where I would get a first model year is if I were leasing.

The rumors suggest no, but what do I know.

Some part of me hopes that they run out of regular hoods like they did headlights, and they will put that cf hood on mine

I hope they don't so that they can't delay my Tanzanite at all! Ha!

I got my F80 really quick with discount, but IIRC European Delivery did not take away an allocation from the dealer, back in 2014?

I can add a bit of more info. The configurator for the F80 was recently remove from BMW's German website (I think today or yesterday). I signed one this week and will get it mid May. However I was not able to get Tanzanite as it is individual. But I can live with San Marino as a fallback. :-)

With quite some phone calls with dealers I know (or I was told to be exact) that production ends in May (and no upgrade / changes to meet new pollution standards as the M4 gets). The last cars will be the CS versions.

GM called me and said my M3 went into Production today. Strange, because I kept calling the 800 # every day since I placed the order two weeks ago, and I kept getting the "Scheduled for Production with no confirmed Production date" message. I called the 800 # again, and this time spoke to a person, and she confirmed that my car went into Production. I hope this helps those people that are still waiting for a Production week.

Weird how this shit works, not complaining at all!

Cars come with warranties and the days of abysmal quality for first generation models are long gone.

If you like it, just get it!

For M-Cars ED always come from dealer's allocations since I can remember.

Great news!! Congrats. 112 is a good status - call Genius and see what your production week is. Should be pretty soon.

Then the tracking process begins, assuming you're as insane as the rest of us.
