It's hard to disagree I think

Thats a lot of torque..

I bought the BMS kit but then ended up replacing the tank, solenoid, and lines from DevilsOwn. The Coolingmist pump was all that was left from the BMS. And yes... Once you feel the power of meth, it's very difficult to not go back. The power delivery when meth starts to spray is so smooth and seeing those IAT's drop like no tomorrow is worth it. If you buy a high quality kit with high quality lines, no one should have a problem especially if you monitor the system once a week or so.

As soon as my M4 gets here ~2 weeks and as soon as Terry has the proper support, i'm transferring my meth kit from the 335i to the M4 asap.

Can't find the FSB from DevilsOwn, could you link it? I'm not happy with the CoolingMist FSB, POS as far as I'm concerned...

It's just an electric controller that converts low current PWM on the JB4 end to high current PWM for the pump, solenoid, etc. It's actually a rather nice piece of equipment. BMS reprograms the CM FSB to interface with the JB4. There is no alternative to it unless you want to run a stand alone meth kit like the Aquamist and remove the tune integration benefits.

It's nothing against BMS, and I understand the benefits it gives you and realize it is great in theory. The problem I have with it is the quality behind the hardware itself, I think CoolingMist needs to step up their game. It's just a very cheaply made, exposed part.

I'd agree that my engine failure was an anomaly as I haven't heard of any other meth related incidents. I'll never know with 100% certainty what caused it. That said, the risk of fire is legit as plenty of known incidents there. FWIW I now run a blend of E85 and 91 that results in E60 for daily driving. Power is the same as meth. I still use and recommend BMS products to friends as Terry's commitment and contributions to the Bimmer community are massive.

This is what I don't understand as I posted in another thread. Why not just make an E85/FF solution if Exx makes the same power as meth? Why bother with blending fuels and/or filling a separate tank? Why not just use E85 or, if unavailable, 91+ regular fuel and call it a day?

Meth provides additional cooling and octane. It's injected using an aftermarket fuel delivery system and since nobody's cracked the ECU tuning for the S55, tuners can't just adjust the fuel scalar of the OEM ECU and get more fuel in the combustion chamber. Meth is another way to increase fuel and octane to allow the use of more aggressive boost to make more power.

Side note, E30 is a blended fuel (11 gal of 91 octane, premium fuel + 5 gal of E85).

The high pressure fuel pumps can't support more than 30% E85 reliability at 500whp and higher power levels so the meth is used to augment the fueling. The platform will need a high pressure pump upgrade at some point or maybe a port injection add on like has been done with the N54s.

Let me know when you're done with that. I will gladly pay for a flex fuel solution that yields similar results to meth.
