Akrapovic meets Eisenmann on a M3CS

Last week it was time. We mounted an Akrapovic rear muffler with a Eisenmann central muffler on my M3 CS. The whole thing not only looked great, but sounds great too! Nevertheless, we had to slightly modify the Eisenmann central silencer so that it fitted the Akrapovic rear silencer. CBC Peformance in Andernach did everything perfectly again.

Here are a few photos of the material.

The sound overall has become really great.
I will definitely make another soundfile.
Also, the response of the engine has improved significantly.
With the flap closed, the noise behavior is on a standard level.

Interesting what made you go with the eisenmann pipes? Scavaging effect? Akra looks so proper with the ti tips.

Do you feel you've retained some of the CS' unique sound or would this sound exactly the same on a non CS M3?

I have an AA mid pipe waiting to be installed at the end of the month. I'm really hoping it still sounds CSish. What bothers me is that I don't know what gives the CS its deep tone, might be in the mid section therefore changing mid pipe essentially nullifies the CS sound improvement.

The car still sounds absolutely like before - but with much more bandwidth. Wonderful.

The story is a little longer.
First, I wanted to replace only the middle silencer.
That's why I ordered the one from Eisenmann.
This was a contract production.
In the meantime, however, I liked the design of the standard rear silencer less and less.
So I ordered the rear silencer from Akrapovic, which I like best.

When I thought longer about the matter, I liked the idea of the combination always better and the result sounds really awesome!

Hi Chris

How is the fitment between the Eisenmann link pipes (they are link pipes?) and the Akra rear muffler?

What modification did your workshop perform?

Cheers

The unique CS sound comes from the tune, not the pipes or muffler. A full exhaust will change it, but it will always sound different than the non-CS S55s.

Can you please elaborate? The CS's S55 is mechanically identical so why would a CS sound different than a standard F8X if the exhaust systems are both changed to be identical?

My old non-ZCP M3 with an MPE sounds very different than my M3 CS with an MPE. they are both the same S55, and the same exhaust, so it must be the tune, which also has more burbling in the M3 CS. Maybe it's the timing, a/f ratios??? I'm not knowledgeable enough to know.

The CS does sound different with MPE. I had the MPE on my Non-zcp M4 and my zcp M3. The CS sounds way better.
