Believe me I want this suspension as much as the next guy but BMW is taking their sweet-ass time.

2. The M2 is getting proper KW-sourced coilovers, not just HAS.

Are either the KW HAS or M Perf springs progressive? or are they linear spring rates?

I hear ya but my car is due some time in April so the wait is a little easier for me, but I'm hoping they arrive before the car does so I can get the car done as soon as it arrives.

This remains to be seen. Since the front are struts, a coilover is a given. But I have a hunch the M2 rear M-performance will not be a coilover and will stick with the OEM arrangement, albeit with new springs and struts.

Well, yes, I thought that was obvious. Is it even possible to convert to true coilovers in the back?

Well then, it isn't anymore of a "proper coilover" than the one for the M3/4.

KW themselves use the term "thread springs" for their KW HAS kits. http://www.kwsuspensions.net/

The Ohlins ttx setup that was posted in this forum had the rear converted to true coilovers.

The toughest thing about making a decision on what spring/damper set up to go with is the lack of reliable data on what set up allows the car to perform best. Is there any F8x test data (i.e. numbers) on KW HAS, Ohlins, Swift, Eibach, etc.?
At the end of the day what matters most is that after paying a chunk of change that you achieve something demonstrably better than what you started with. With the new ZCP option, I am sure there will be plenty of road tests that will provide data to compare its performance over the stock suspension. Hopefully there will also be data from BMW on the new M Performance springs since they supposedly tested them on the Nurburgring as part of their development. Data would be nice to have to compliment peoples anecdotal experience of all these set ups. It would allow all of us to make the best decisions based on what our individual priorities are. |

Thanks to Kevin from EAS. It arrived in less than 18 hours at my door.

I found this article on the web. They are for the EDC suspension. Don't have any release info though.

I asked my dealer about these again today hoping they'll be available for my delivery in May. They've had an mperformance specialist in to update all their info and when asked said they'd be available q2 or q3 this year. So it still seems pretty vague.
I guess I have to pray for early q2 then.. |
