Can you please share a bit more detail? Module and parameter values please.

I know I can probably trawl through and search the forum posts (not to say that I haven't already tried); but would really appreciate if you/ anyone could post the module & parameters for FDL coding.

Many thanks...
I only ever VO code those, so I do not FDL's.

just wanting to double check

i have had the CS EDC for quite a while and just had swifts springs installed. i read this thread saying that the edc has to 'recalibrated' to remove error codes as part of the install: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1441217

would the dealer have returned by edc to stock after having the springs installed? just wondering if should have my friend or alex at alpine recheck my edc version?

Recalibration and clearing errors would be done via a procedure in ISTA+ ... it basically just sets the zero points for the sensors that measure spring compression. It would not change any coding.

Your dealer *might* have recoded the VDC module, but there would be absolutely no reason for them to do so, and since it takes time I would be very surprised.

hi all,

I have vo coded my f82 to the cs vdc/edc i am getting the "chassis function restricted" error on the dash and I think I need to calibrate my sensors.

I started the test plan "EDC: Start up" but when i proceed with the plan it says the faults remain and faults needs to be fixed in order to calibrate.

I am using ista+ 4.10.20

Any advice please?

Thanks,
Gee

That means you have something in FA that is causing fault. Return FA to factory, VO code and run EDC procedure.

Yeah, Al Maretto (aka "Robert McKenna" or whomever he actually is) posts
a lot but he has no integrity!

I paid him to do coding. He couldn't do it ("CS-EDC") properly.

* He reneged on his word,
* Charged me twice
* Still did not resolve the issue and now, won't return my e-mails
and/or contact attempts.

So, all I have left is to post my reality on the forum. Maybe now, he'll contact me?!?

Be Aware! It's all good as long as things are within his grasp.

Exactly.

Unfortunately, Calculate FP only checks if FA elements are valid, but not conflicts. So, when you go to code, it can cause errors.

I just took a look at the FDL values for the VDC1 module for the M3CS versus M3 ZCP. The only parameters that seem to be changed are "Fahrzeugtyp" from _Comp to CS and under 3001 AUSSTATTUNGEN "M_Competition/High" from "aktiv (w=01)" to "nicht_aktiv (w=00").

So it looks like this can easily be FDL coded.

I also tried to find out if there is a difference in DSC coding between Competition and CS - since there was that comment on the German car magazine about improved ABS with the Cup 2 tires.

But I could not find a specific values for the CS: 3000_DSC_CODIERUNG at C_Variante_Fahrzeug_e it shows "F80_CP (w=03)" versus "F80 (w=00)" on the CS FA.
I wonder if that's correct because it would mean there was no such thing as a CS specific coding for the DSC.

Update: It appears to me the CS is using the DSC coding from the M4GTS (w=06). For the GTS appearently the RDCi functionality is disabled (C_Funktion_RDCi_I set to "nicht_aktiv"), something that can be ignored when coding the GTS DSC mapping.

thanks a lot for these inputs petrolhead.. I was lokking for these FDL values for quite a while. For the GTS DSC Coding it‘s only this one value?
Do you have the GHAS (rear diff) values as well by any chance?

thanks in advance and greetings from germany

For GHAS you can just change Typecode and VO code it.

Yes, for the GTS DSC it's only that one value, you can ignore the other one that disables the RDCi.

For the GHAS - if you don't want to use VO/FA coding, you can change the two parameters at: GHAS-> 3000 - Funktionen - DSS TASC to "F82GTS (w=0C)" and also DSS IPM to "F82GTS (w=0C)" and FDL code it.

After you've coded these, you definitely need to clear all error codes.

As far as I know, the ABS and DSC modules are different. From what I read, the CS uses an improved ABS calibration over the GTS.

Hello colleagues, for edc m4 cs coding, is there still no way to have M4 CS option within vcm1? because it is not clear to me that it should be like f85_comp, I have tried it in my m4 cs limited edition version of Spain 60 units that is basically a pre m4 competition based on edc configuration and I like it more as stock I see that it goes better in cofort, sport and sport +
Thanks and greetings

If you anyone can send me a copy of ISTA+ I would greatly appreciate it. Need it to recalibrate my EDC after coilover install.
