If you could share the guide that you used I’d appreciate that. Thanks 🙂
I sent a pm. The guide linked in the first post is the one I put together.

Hi Guys, I have a non Competition M4 - if I would like to flash M4 Competition software into DME - are there any traps?
Would simple VO coding (change 4Y91 and add 7MA & 7MN) and then flash DME with relevant available software in e-sys? read somewhere in old threads that this is "FSC" protected - but maybe the current knowledge is better and there is a way how to flash it without problems. Thanks

I don’t believe the software updates to the DME and VO coding alone will change to the competition package map. Flash tuners that unlock the DME and change the tables are used to replace normal maps with factory like (CS, GTS, etc) tuning parameters.

Ok, so flashing DME with a stock Competition software into a non-Competition car has not been tried/tested yet? Hmm. I do not want to get into tuned maps (yet), just wanted to try the comp versin first

MHD and BM3 can both flash the comp package and GTS maps. Probably easier than the method you're trying as there is no messing with coding or FSC worries.

I like to learn, not very interested in short-cuts. Also, i want to have a stock EU competition map rathet than a tuned map based on (most likely) US based maps/tune.

I have tried to change FA to M4 Competition by changing the typeschlusel from 3R91 to 4Y91, adding 7MA option. FP calculated with no issues.
FA Activated. Read SVT from VCM and then did the SVT Soll calculation (from shipment istep F020-16-03-503 to F020-20-07-525).

DME2 shows the SWFL to be updated - anyone tried already this DME2 flash?

Also what surprises me - why are some units blue - as if they are not present in the Target version - I would expect that EGS4, DSC and EPS to be present in an 4Y91 version as well. Why they do appear as Actual state and not Identical state (black) if no update is being necessary?

Question: if the car is already updated to the latest I-level, does that mean just the subsequent VO changes need to be made and there's no need for a full I-level update with a full PSDZData?

That is correct. You only need to update the ecus if the I level is too old. Vin coding is all that is needed if I level is new enough.

Do I need to update to a newer I Step Vesion before VO coding?
On my M is the i step version F020-19-03-522

And if my Version is new enough, do i need full PSDZData?

Thx for help

Your level is enough for CS/GTS Coding.
No need Full PSDZDATA. Lite is enough.

Trying to update EPS, DSC, ICM, GHAS. Using E-Sys 3.33.4, SDP Full 4.33.31

2015 F80 M3, build date: 07/2014

Istep shipment F020-14-07-505
Istep target F020-21-11-550

Executed Tal shows finished: blFlash, swDeploy, cdDeploy

But errors on prepare vehicle flash: error: negative response : conditionsNotCorrect

SVT read after Tal execution shows updated levels for btld, swfl, cafd. Does this mean it worked?

When I tried to do next step of VO code to M4 GTS, I just get stuck with the TPMS and GHAS lock errors, and can't clear them even following RDC code to active, and GHAS calibration fails in ISTA+. So not sure if this is related to the errors from flashing, or if this is a separate issue.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Probably something is being done incorrectly.
Post your faults from ISTA. Maybe will be able to tell something.

Try re-flashing everything back to stock as per standard procedure and see if faults gone. Possibility there’s something wrong with your calculations.

Used this thread as a guide to get my car coded to CS, thanks to all the posts! Couple of things are different now with the latest esys and isteps compared to the guide:

- for TAL calculation the new esys has an option for 'mirror'; I disabled that
- The VDC1 now has a separate coding/FDL type for a CS VO/FA, apparently it use to be F85_Comp vs now it has its own dedicated name of F82CS in 3000-->>Fahrzeugtyp in the latest istep.

I only did a quick drive but first impressions; MDM is way less restrictive, the diff seems to want to find grip, steering is slightly hard (my car is a F82 ZCP), and the suspension is way less harsh then the ZCP.
