I agree it will come close (117 mph), but it wont eclipse and then again, it will be 4 years newer LOL. Plus track times wont be comparable and top end should easily go to the 911 as they are very strong in this area.

Just make sure that comparisons with other cars also are apples to apples... Like, what is the E9x curb weight you/we want to use? And is that with or without driver and luggage...?

Well, obviously if you want to play with a new car, then that is the price you should be prepared to pay. And I guess buying a used 335i isn't really an option to those who wants to play with a M3/M4 anyway...
