Am I getting scammed? Help: Style 184? on F80 fits?
Help!,
I searched everywhere and I haven't seen anything about what I think are style 184s fitting on an F80. I found someone on craigslist who is claiming to sell her husband's winter tires out of storage from his 2015 M3. I asked multiple times if they fit and if there was any issues and they say no, but my research is coming up with the opposite news. The only thing that makes sense is that they fit 245/40/18s in the fronts and 245/45/18s in the rears which come out to be the same height as the stock 19s I have. I asked where they got them from and all she said was "They came with the car, I don't know more. We can't talk so I can't ask. No lights were on the car so I think it has the sensors" I searched all the models for a close fit to the pictures on http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/ to come up with the 184s from the E60 M5 I attached the pictures they sent me showing the tires and they won't let me test fit them without buying them. Please tire/rim pros, help me not get scammed if they won't fit. I want to keep driving this car in New England during cold weather (Not snow) and the PSSs will probably kill me come rain/cold in October! |

If she cannot provide the information, do not buy them.
Sounds pretty fishy, though... Almost as if he's in the service. Selling his shit off while he's deployed? Maybe I'm full of it.

I'd say stay away unless you're 100% sure they'll fit. Don't want to end up "saving" a few bucks only to realize they don't fit. Not worth the risk.

Heard from the husband (Proof that if you can find a woman who knows cars, keep her). It wasn't on a 2015 M3, in 2015 he bought a 2011 M5...

I would say they wont fit. I had snows on style 189's(18"). I was told not many 18's fit on the F8x, so I tried it and the tabs on the brake pads were rubbing pretty bad.
But I have a set of BBS SR wheels in 18" that fit, though the same tab machined a few grooves in the barrel of the wheel. |
