It is stated that the 18psi statement is MAX boost, the car in typical climates will not run 18psi, maybe more like 16psi. 18psi is max boost for when the car compensates for different climates, and/or altitudes. = you'll almost always get the stock rated performance. I'm sure there's still some meat left in the bone, but who knows. As much as the N54 has? Most likely not. I'm sure less restrictive air filter + catback will easily gain some extra power as with the N54. Plus, in a car that's lighter, will handle better, and has the same power as your typical FBO N54, what isn't there to like? Apart from price of course. All the lovers of the S65 M3, quit bashing the F80, appreciate it for what it is, and move to Porsche if you want N/A & light weight. I personally find the flat6 nicer sounding than the S65. |

Looks very good, but considering how far off the rocker BMW has fallen with Canadian pricing, I'd be curious to see if you can even get this thing out the door for less than $100K which is a little bit excessive, even for an M.

Was playing around with the M3/M4 visualizers on the international site, kinda disapppointed the F8x M's are getting Mineral Grey instead of Space Grey :/ they do look gorgeous in black with the black rims tho

Can't get enough of these cars! Wonder if today (being the 12th) will bring any more additional info or media that we haven't already seen?

I love the outside, as I get older I like the idea of a bigger car as my DD. I may however be the only one that doesn't like the seats. Perhaps I need to wait to see it in person and with individual color options. I'm curious to see what media system technology develops over the next few yrs. Hoping for big improvements with BMW Apps and other similar technology.

No, you are not the only one who hates the seats. They look to be cheaply made with a pattern on the leather and a shiny emblem that make the interior feel too busy. Honestly, you sit on them, who cares if the emblem lights up? Why not spend that money on a nav display that actually will hide itself when not in use rather than stand out like the screen of a miniature laptop that doesn't even flow with the rest of the dashboard. Apart from the interior issues mentioned above, I absolutely love both the M3 and M4; and am eagerly awaiting any information on what the competition package will bring. |

Yea I don't get why they didn't make the screen slide into the dash, it just looks like it's begging for that. Performance package info would be really good too! Curious to see how the premium sound is also.

The weight reduction is the best part IMO.
M4- 3,300 lbs (all fluids, 90% fuel, no driver) 3,466 lbs (plus 68kg driver and 7kg luggage) C63 AMG coupe- 3,641 lbs (all fluids, 90% fuel, no driver) 3,806 lbs (plus 68kg driver and 7kg luggage) RS5- 3760 lbs (all fluids, 90% fuel, no driver) 3,938 lbs (plus 68kg driver and 7kg luggage) I'm sure the next gen C63 & RS5 will lose some weight (new C class is rumored to lose 220lb over out going model) but its hard to imagine them getting down to the M4's level, and be priced competitively. Plus despite the weight loss the M4/3 are now more structurally robust/stiffer making them even more suited for track use. Last edited by cs4444; 12-12-2013 at 08:27 AM.. |
