Obviously, having a square setup with the ability to rotate has been tremendous in terms of managing wear. Grip has not decreased at all and likely increased. Unless I decide to try slicks, I will be buying these again next year.

I'm getting the pics from the Ring photographers. So pics as well as onboard Aim videos with data are following.
But the next 2 days are chaotic, we’re in Milan/Monza for the race.

Have you thought about switching to the NT01?

I have but I think I will definitely need camber plates up front before sacrificing the outside shoulders of the NT01.
I saw you ran a 2:12 on the NT01, what other mods did you have out of curiosity? I assume you had DSC off. Last edited by ineedae46m3; 09-24-2018 at 11:57 AM.. |

there's a dude who ran 2:11 with PSS and stock everything except for some street BBK on the fronts. video on youtube. DSC off.
he's doing 155mph before braking for bus stop where as i was only able to achieve 145mph, likely because of MDM. i ran a 2:16 as well with MDM on, nearly done NT01, and nearly done brakes. camber plates at -2.5 front. slight traffic i believe. i feel like with DSC off and some fresh NT01 and brakes I should be able to match that 2:11 at the least. i remember getting no power out of the toe of the boot and turn 9. oh well, won't be going back til next year and by then I may or may not be in a SS 1LE or Grandsport. |

The key turn is that right hand carousel after the chicane and little straight. You have to hit that just right, it gets tighter and tighter towards exit. My usually method is an offset "V", basically coming in hot and tight trying to trail brake through the apex to get it to rotate closer to the exit. It's a high risk/reward technique but if you hit it right it feels so excellent. I haven't mastered that on the P car at all yet, having a hard time getting it to trail brake steer like the M4. I set up the alignment similar to the M4, but the Porsche is surprisingly less tail happy than the M4 was. I need to take a little bit of rear toe-in out actually. My E36 race car still won't be ready for the next few events, so I'll be taking the 911 GTS out for some more track time soon.

Car: M4cs
Track: Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant (LCMT) Best Lap Time: 1:49.89 (///M Lap-timer) Tires: Nitto NT01 275-305/35R18 Brakes: Stock iron with Pagid RS29 Other relevant mods: MP-HAS / GC Camber plates I had my new M4cs on the track for the first time this week. I was able to beat my previous best time of 1:51.38 from my 2015 M4 by 1.5 seconds. I was able to achieve a 1:49.89 without even trying that hard, I was just doodling around the track getting to know the car. When I looked at the laptimer at the end of the session without expecting anything and saw that 1:49, it was like "holy s#!t" . I managed quite few laps in the low 1:50s during the day, so it's not just an outlier. BMW really worked wonders to the chassis, that's where I feel most of the difference lies. The extra punch from the engine can be felt coming out of corners, but I was barely 1mph faster at the end of the back straight, so that's not where most of the time comes from. The M4cs just feels at home on the track, more willing do dance and more engaging to drive. It's about how everything works in harmony: the added engine grunt, the lighter weight, the improved aero, the suspension tuning, the electronics tuning (EDC, e-diff, ABS). Very happy so far and looking forward to what the next season will bring .

Watkins Glen International
2:12.22, dvas, M2, 6MT (Nitto NT01, Bilstein B16 PSS10, PFC08) Was at WGI with Ferrari club which offered some really cool cars to check out including a Porsche 962 and 333 prototype. I got passed coming out of the Esses by none other than Giancarlo Fisichella in a 488 GT4 like I was standing still. He was already out there for a bunch of laps and it was my out lap but I don't think it would have made a huge difference. I timed him doing around high 1:40s. A little let down by my lap time as I expected to be able to get sub 0:10s. The off and on rain and long waiting periods between sessions didn't help. Nor did my first session slide in the transition part of the Esses on day one. Video is pretty crappy as the mic failed and the GoPro settings were somehow automatically changed from my last track day. Best lap starts around 14:00. Watkins Glen International Best lap from event: 2:12.22 2017 BMW M2 Nitto NT01 275/35/18 square (about 7-8 days on them at this point) Apex SM-10 18x10 33ET square Bilstein B16 PSS10 (run at full stiffness 10 clicks front/8 clicks rear) Ground Control Camber Plates at 3.2 degrees PFC08 brake pads |

Watkins Glen:
2:18.75, DVC, 335i (RE-71R, PFC08, Ohlins R&T) Just stumbled upon this great thread. Not much of anything interesting happening in the F30 track forums, so hopefully it's OK if I post some 335i laps here (I see a couple of M235i times on the list, so I wouldn't be too much of an outlier : ) My 2014 335i has a stock N55, with a down pipe and exhaust, and upgraded suspension bits. Here's a lap from Watkins Glen last month. This was my second time there, with my first being 3 years ago, before the repave, and on the NASCAR/short course layout. The event was extremely crowded, with huge run groups; although WGI seems to handle large numbers pretty well, it was still tough to get a clean lap with so many cars out there. The lap below was the closest I got; I think it would have been about a second or so quicker without having needed to negotiate the e46 M3 through 7 and into 8 (plus I over-slowed a bit into 9). Also, please excuse the audio cutting in and out a bit - my external GoPro mic was starting to crap out.

Nordschleife Lap
This lap was during Touristenfahrten on 8/26/2018. Car is E90 325i VLN race car preprared by Ring Freaks, running R comps (I think 235 or 245 square).
Took a bit of time to get the tires warm, and it was difficult to judge the front end grip, there was zero feedback and the steering was very light. I am convinced the car had way more to give. Also the bumps were upsetting the car and because of that we weren't too sure we were on the right line - next time we'll take instruction for sure. It was only my 5th or 6th lap ever of the Ring, so for all intents and purposes I'm a newbie. Add traffic, accidents and whatnot and a laptime was completely meaningless. But boy did I have fun! Next, 2 sections with my friend driving and me in the M3 ahead. I had no trouble pulling ahead even while running break-in limits in the M3. I was aware that Euro Delivery insurance didn't cover the Ring but felt safe enough to manage the traffic for a brisk lap or two (but like I said, not at full speed). You can check out my ED post over in the Photos/Videos forum section - lots of pics and the whole story there.

Did you have any traction control on? Turn everything off. The PSS' are great tires. I had them on at buttonwillow. They get oily towards the end of the sessions but they do grip. Keep at it at sow, especially CCW and you'll definitely go sub 1:30's stock. You should get pads though after the long straight, first corner is hell on the brakes.
