Week 7/8 Builds

I have had an order in the order bank with my dealer for a few months, but today was officially given a production number with a week 7 build

I called the 1-800 number and it transferred me to a rep, I guess the prod number is so new that it's not in the automated system yet. It also won't let me add it to My BMW on bmwusa.com, yet. But the rep did confirm that the prod number is assigned to an M3 sedan scheduled for week 7. Let the games begin!

Those with week 7 or 8 builds can discuss in this thread.

I placed an order last Wed that was put in the order bank and just got my production number this morning. Looks like I'm a week 8. Needless to say, my level of excitement has spiked today.

Yeah, I'm leasing so the ability to roll the exhaust into the residual value was the big factor in me choosing the MPE.

Yeah, makes sense. It's about ~5k w/ tips right? I might just get it. Sucks I wont get to keep the stock exhaust..

Port Installed Accessories(PIA) that are installed at the VPC can be residualized into your lease. Meaning the MSRP of your car is adjusted to include them.

If you are leasing with a residual value of ~60% it essentially means that you only pay ~40% of the accessory.

Well my production date slipped from week 5 to week 8 so I guess I am with you guys now.

Nope. They just said that dates were still tentative.

Yikes, well I am on a tight timeline so hopefully I don't get pushed back. We have a few similar options, hoping its not tied to one of those...I assume your CA has your prod # in as Priority 1 - Cust. Sold?

Yes. Priority 1.

I got my allocation in the first week of December.

Same boat as you.... just got dropped from week 5 to 7. Also received my allocation in the first week of Dec. I guess they plan on given extra care to our cars during the manufacturing process, hence the delay? Its the only logical explanation, right?

Well, not to make you guys feel bad...but...just was informed that my Week 7 build got bumped UP to Week 4. I will find out more details, but I'm doing PCD and it helps to have a contact at the Perf. Center

If one wanted to delay the production date by 1-2 weeks to add ZCP, is that something that's possible?

Hard to say, as obviously build weeks move around all the time, but that's usually controlled by BMW, not a customer request. My guess would be no, you would have to find another allocation that falls after the CP goes into production.
