For those of us who daily drive this car. I'm wondering if we can retrofit comfort access on this car. Not sure if the connections are readily available for plug and play kits. Lol
Any thoughts?

I miss it alot (actually the biggest thing I miss from my ZCP), but not enough to try a retrofit. With anything like this I'm guessing it would be a lot of $$$ and a pain in the ass to do. Unless of course you have someone else do it, but then again more $$$.

Bimmertech sells a retrofit kit but I don't know if the cs is pre wired for it. If it is, then I think the kit is worth the $725 they charge for it. Lol
1st world problems.. I'm sure I'll get used to not having it in a few weeks. I also miss the cameras particularly the birds eye view since our driveway is so narrow.. recently also noticed that the car doesn't have the automatic headlight washers. Not that I care much for it. Lol

Let us know how it works out!

I'm just fine with no headlight washers, not a fan. Cameras would be nice, but the backup camera is really all I need. If it was like the 360 view in my wife's 5 series than you are talking.

Headlight washers were an option on the CS in AU.

I’d do just about anything for comfort access. It’s a pain in the ass.

It's some bizarre marketing plan I suppose since comfort access total weight is minuscule -- door handle weights are the same, probably less than 1/4 lb in wiring, a small module and two antennas; perhaps they saved 1.5 lbs.

I've taken the car into the dealer 2 times this week. Once because they took my car in and did nothing and had no loaner for me. Then again this morning to get this issue corrected. I left it overnight to get the overnight test drive.

From what the SA told me. They did the alignment twice, 3 service techs noticed the same issue with the steering wheel turning and car drifting to the right.

I'll update as soon as I get my car back and hopefully it's resolved then.

It's been 10 months and I still have not gotten used to it, I constantly find myself tugging at a locked door handle

I do find myself watching the rear OLED power up sequence a lot more often since I need to manually unlock. Never gets old.

I think BMW is telling us to humble ourselves when driving the CS

Also, just got my car back from service. Apparently they did a software reset and realigned the car. LA streets are terrible, so I'd have to do some freeway testing to see if they actually fixed the "right drift/pulling/tracking" issue.

So, I did speak to a representative at bimmer tech. Our cars are compatible with the comfort access retrofit. Door handles will be paint matched with car color. I'm debating if $725 is worth it plus install unless I do the diy lol

I don't know.... To each their own, but I don't see $725 worth it just to touch a door handle as opposed to clicking a button on a fob.... My $.02 though....

Otherwise it's been great.
I had my M3 CS IN the dealership several times for the right hand drift. There is a EPS flash available called The pull/drift Compensation flash. That solved my problem 100% and the on center and initial turned in was much more precise.

I don't do alignments at the dealership. Go to West End Alignment if you are in socal.
Don't. It's not an alignment issue. See my other post.

So how does that work to fix alignment? Computer adjusts the e-steering?

Have no idea. I just know the difference was day and night and car goes straight as an arrow now.

Seriously you guys rely on comfort access that much?!

It’s literally one click on a key fob. I don’t even take it out of my pocket to unlock the car.

Totally - I can't fathom how this is a "thing". I actually found it to be not 100% reliable/consistent and so never used it.

Lol. It's just habit. I've had comfort access for more than 5 years so I'm just used to touching the door handles or the trunk latch. I forget that I don't have that option anymore so I don't even reach for the fob till I touch the door and it doesn't open and if I'm carrying something on both hands then I have to set it down and reach inside my pocket to press unlock.
Hopefully, in a few more weeks I'll be able to form the habit of pressing the key fob first before I reach for the door handles. Lol
