440i Vs M4 servicing

I've been reading through the topic on servicing costs, however the prices quoted only go up to the 3 year - £1,000 service.

Does anyone know the true cost of owning a car on a 16 / 17 plate, i.e. service 4 onwards, and how this compares to a 440i when it comes to servicing?

I've always had my derv BMW's services at either an independent or Halfords, so wouldn't know dealer costs.

I'm probably looking at keeping the car for 5 - 6 years, as I have with my 635D, but want to understand what it would cost me over that period.

Not that much difference. I've got both a 340 and a M4 and had both serviced in last month. Whilst the 340 has a service pack, looking at the invoice it was only marginally less than the M4 service.

I phoned around for quotes and Cotswold in Cheltenham were by far the cheapest and it was around £800 for the big service at around 33000 miles.

I should add that you'll go through tyres quicker with the M4 and they're more expensive, and in terms of fuel, I average 22 in the M4 and around 30 in the 340, though they have different uses, with the M4 only really used for track days and weekend runs. I'd factor a 5mpg difference in a like for like use basis.

Cheers for the info. I'm realistically only doing 10 - 15 miles per day nowadays (office based rather than on the road) so MPG isn't really a worry for me. I'd probably head out to the hills more if I had the M4 than I do in my 635 though.
