I simply enable mdm in my M2 button, and drive in that mode unless its raining, problem solved.

my default is to drive in mdm mode all the time. the standard dsc is so intrusive on poor roads it's not useable and I have never experienced a moment when mdm was letting me go too far and it's usually the opposite as it kicks in way too early as well.

Does anyone know if coding euro mdm voids warranty in any way?

Warranty laws are pretty stringent in Canada. BMW would have to prove that the coding is what directly caused the failure for which they are denying warranty.

the risk is coding is a pretty blanket application. i imagine the voiding coverage could come pretty easily with something so ambiguous and then it would be a bunch of hassle to argue it up the chain.

I'm sure there are a number of members out there with euro mdm coding that have made warranty claims - i wonder what happened, maybe I will create a thread and ask...

I have/had a whole bunch of coding done on my last 3 cars and have never encountered any warranty claim issue. Coding is different than "tuning". Coding simply consists of flipping electronic switches on existing options in the factory software, hence why the risk is low IMO

with side mirrors closing and little tweaks I could see that but the GTS flash affects how the transmission behaves so that one I could see being a potential issue. That's basically the one I want to do with the euro mdm but I am hesitant.

GTS DCT flash does not qualify as "coding" and nowhere was it mentioned in this thread.

to me it's similar to euro mdm as that simply put changes the settings on how dsc works in the car. GTS flash changes the settings on the transmission and how the computer shifts. it's not like a power tune which changes a/f ratios etc. etc. but yet I agree before you need to raise it that the euro mdm doesn't put more wear on a part where the GTS flash does. So that I see as an easy warranty void argument (potentially). there is no black or white answer i'm sure. you take your chance on what coding or flashing you do and hope your dealer a) doesn't see it b) ignores it if they do

Anyway we're off topic now...

With a GTS flash you changing the software of the car, installing a software destined for another model. Not the same thing as activating/de-activating options. DCT flash is sort of an in-between because it is still BMW software. But agreed:

Is it okay to use 255 up front with 285 rear tires?

Check to see if your wheel weights fell off. Sometimes when a tech balances the tires, he/she will glue them to a dirty part of the wheel and they can fall off within a few miles of driving or when your brakes get hot and weaken the glue.

You are RWD, that should be fine.

Here are some things that haven't been mentioned yet:

Wheel Lug torque (103 lb-ft)

Yaw/Speed sensors, the units that feed data to the DSC control unit.

DSC Control Unit
