Tire fitment recommendation for BBS LM-R
I'll be installing a set of LM-R's and am about to purchase a set of PS4S tires to go with them. My main question would be for the rears if either a 285,295 or even a 305/30 would be ideal. Specs are as followed:
F80 ZCP Macht Schnell springs 20x9.5 ET23 20x11 ET40 Fronts I believe 265/30 is ideal however I'd like to be sure I get the rears right as it's not exactly an easy mistake to fix. |

I second the 265/30/20 F and 295/30/20 R rec. 305/30/20 would make rear tire profile look too thick, may run into rubbing issues on 20x11 +40 rims depending on brand of tire and would have enough of a height difference btw F and R that you may get unwanted DSC interventions.
I’ve been running 265/295 30/20s PS4S for a few mos now and they feel perfect. |

I’m running 265/285 with 20” MP4S on my LM-R’s but my fronts are ET 18 so they naturally stick out a bit more than your ET23’s
I was told that if I ran 285 on rears there would be a good chance of rubbing at my height on bumps. |

Do you mean 295's on the rear may rub?

295s on rear will not rub. I'm currently running 20x11 +37 rims with 295/30/20 PS4S and car is lowered with bilstein coilovers and have zero rubbing issues at all even with 4 people in the car and my 50 lb subwoofer box in the very back of the trunk.
So your 20x11 +40 should be fine w/ 295/30/20. Here's a picture of how my rear tire fits. Yours will sit 3mm inward giving even more space than mine: |

20x9.5 +17 w/ 265/30/20 PS4S. No rubbing up front either even at full lock. However, it's very close. I think 275/30/20 would touch the inner liner, though it likely wouldn't cause any damage. Here's how my front looks at full lock. There's like 1/4" gap btw tire and plastic fender liner:
