Anyone know where in Melb to get crank hub done?

Looking to go big power soon, and the car is out of warranty so the peace of mind of getting a maxPSI crank hub or similar is well worth it in my opinion.

Has anyone done this in Melb or know of a good shop that could do the install?

I went on the hunt a while back, plenty of shops put their hand up but none even had the timing tools

Hills Eurohaus in Sydney is going to be our best bet - they are undertaking this atm I believe

at what power point are you guys considering doing it, doubt its needed on anything but high power (eg turbo swap) applications.

Stock cars have reported this issue also - albeit rarely. Reasonable to consider for any level of tune. If you find a shop you can trust.

do it if you intend on keeping the car beyond warranty period

it's going to be harder to find/repair an s55 locally, than find a local shop who can install a crank hub imo

My car is out of warranty, bolt ons happening and will soon have an E85 tune with circa 570whp...

I'm surprised no one in Australia has had this preventative maintenance done, wouldn't be surprised if it's because not as many people here beat on their cars.

Bumping an old thread.

My car is out of warranty this month, and I was thinking of doing the crank bolt capture mod as I’m only intending to go stage 1 or 2.

Did you end up getting this done M4_Johnnys ?

Speak to these guys, they have done a few, and have all the tools. They are new but very finicky in their work. Speak to Umberto tell him Danny with the matte white m4 sent you.. he will look after you. I think you can get the crank hub and capture for around 4k...

Definately Elite Euro Performance, Umberto is the guy he will look after you. They have done heaps of crank hubs. The team is very hands on and specific about everything.

So just picked my car up from Elite Euro Performance last night.

Crank Hub Capture and Mode Design downpipes fitted (heat shielded). I flashed Stage 2 (91 ron) tune this morning.

Umberto seems like a top bloke.

Showed me his car, spoke about some of the secret squirrel stuff he's working on - definitely somewhere I'd be happy to take my car again, spoke to him about plans for my car which was good too.

So definitely a recommendation from me if anyone's looking to get anything done.

Yeah, Umberto is a top bloke... great work!! Had a bit of cosmetic stuff done, but when warranty is out I'll do much the same. How does the car feel with the tune.?

Not tuning cars yourself these days Matt?? 😂

Re the tune - really good. Only drove it with TCS on, but had the traction light flickering through 3rd gear. Logs look good too, but will really have to wait till I get on a track to tell.

Heh, I thought about it, maybe when I go e85. Will see.

That's odd, I'm booked in with him today, he's been nothing but amazing in communication so far, even rang late yesterday to check if I was still right for today. Chat and call him via Facebook messenger
