I noticed today my car is saying my next service is due in June 2020, even though I just had my oil changed and cabin filter replaced two weekends ago.
I checked my Vehicle Status and it said it received a Tele-Service notice just yesterday. But I can't tell what service it's saying I will need. Can't be the oil (next mileage interval is correctly stated as 10k), the brake pads have tons of life left on them (car only has 19,000 miles in total). Everything else is A-OK. I tried a search but can't find anything on how to tell what that service notice is for. The manual is no help either. I can call the dealer but before I do, any suggestions appreciated. |

Closing the loop on this thread. Called dealer and they looked up my VIN and said the teleservice notice was for brake fluid replacement. In June, it will have been 2 years since the prior flush. From doing some searches i see that 2 years is about right (I don't track the car) given brake fluid's propensity for moisture.
Under original (new) ownership, the brakes were flushed at 30 months (12k miles) in June of 2018. I bought the car a year ago at 14k miles and have will be at roughly 21k by this June so while mileage intervals are low, the 2 year mark is upon me. What's strange is that on my DD (2010 Nissan) and my wife's prior DD (2009 Infiniti)I don't recall brake fluid changes needed to be as frequent. Another M tax perhaps? 😀 |
